Didn't see this one, so here we go.

Over in [info]bad_sex, a story is posted.
It's posted behind a cut, but in a fairly large, sickly green/blue font.

Raventhon takes great offense, as evidenced by its comment of, "why the fuck did you post it in a non-black color? It doesn't make you cool. It just pisses people off."

Arguments ensue, cliched graphics are used, and community info is quoted.

And there was much rejoicing.

Well while I'd never complain about it, what the hell does possess people to where they think randomly changing font color is a good idea? People can set comment pages to their own style. Why wouldn't you want to make sure that your post as easy to read as possible?

...makes. no. sense.

It was a rather obnoxious font, but it's not as though it was one that was terribly difficult to read and the OP DID put it behind an LJ cut.

Random fonts/fonts colours is a pet peeve of mine but [info]raventhon is still being a bitch about it.

Also, it seems like a lot of pointless effort to change the font/colour for every single comment

Agreed. At least she didn't do light pink or yellow or something. The teal wasn't hard to read, and the bolding helped.

Still, though, black works fine for me...

That takes care of eye-bleeding layouts, but not when the font is set to a specific color by html.

Exactly.

Yeah, it was a fairly ugly color, but it was easy enough to read and it was behind a cut anyway so it's not as though it fucked up anyone's friends page or even the community page.

Silly thing to get pissed off about.

I've never had a knee to the throat, but I once got an elbow to the eye during good_sex...although the elbow/eye combination kinda knocked it down to no_sex as it hurt like a bitch and I sorta temporarily lost proper sight. Lots of sparklies, and what looked like a moving red/black 'cloud' for about 10 minutes.

As if my eyesight wasn't bad enough to begin with.

Moral: Leave glasses ON! ;)

It'd be nice if it was easy to read, but it wasn't. I don't see the point of creating a shitfight about it, considering it was under a cut, but colored text in general is outright painful for me to look at. Like ow, man.

(Also, people who use red/orange/yellow text for anything should be shot and gutted.)
