Clarification: I think the sentiment meant was really, "Stop raping, period."

Definition: the legal definition of rape only involves penis entering vagina without consent.

Disagreement: Because life really is that simple.

Repetition of the expansion: And a note to my fellow women: STOP RAPING MEN.

And a thread I won't even pretend to understand.

. . . I was under the impression the problem with the common law definition of "rape" is that it only covers situations in which women are the victims. So the reason for switching to "sexual assault" statutes is that it provides clearer guidelines for how to handle cases involving victims who are male, or trans, or whatever. It had nothing to do with precise sexual acts.

Heh. I spotted that on feminist_rage earlier, and I remember that someone was going to metaquote it.

To give a bit of context to the original quote, the feminist_rage post involved an article where a young woman was horribly raped by a group of men, and the article's response was to tell teenage girls to be more careful rather than to speak out against the people who do the raping.

Sort of makes sense to me. The type of men who'd do a gang-rape aren't going to change their behavior because of a news article, but the article might be able to change the behavior of potential victims.
