Reposted from CLAIRVOYANT WANK
A fairly standard run-of-the-mill "I have my period and my ovaries demanded chocolate" post. Many women chime in with "mine are demanding rum," "mine demanded Cheetos", etc.

Then we get this observation on women and willpower.

It's small, but it's metaquotes, so it will grow.

Edit 1. -- aaaaaaaaaand the mods lay down the ban hammer. Well, that was cute while it lasted.

Well, I guess that makes chicken soup the opium of the masses, then.

I hate gender wank. God, it's like grade school all over again, only now both sides are making me look bad.

Well, except for when they see women scantilydressed/drunk/inalleys/wearingoveralls/sleeping.

Because if it weren't for those things, rape wouldn't happen, wot wot?

My ovaries demand to not be anthropomorphized.

Or they would, if I had any.

Also, the ASCII version of Badger Badger Badger rules.

Don't remember seeing him before that, though.

I know that kid. He transferred to my school, knowing full well that it was Jesuit run, and then proceeded to bitch to everyone that would listen about having to take theology classes for core requirements.

And regarding his icon... you don't move Bibles to fiction. That's too obvious.

And also, speaking in my capacity as a professional librarian, incorrect.

Not because of the veracity or lack thereof of the events in the Bible, you understand, but because, like the Koran and the Torah, it is a religious document first, and a work of literature second (or possibly third, depending on who you talk to).

Also, the "moving the Bible to the fiction section" joke is so old it has hair on it.

"And also, speaking in my capacity as a professional librarian, incorrect."

I used to work in a bookstore myself. I got into fights with my manager regularly over where to put books. (It could be argued that Octavia Butler should go in African American Interest, though I insisted that she should be in Science Fiction. When this same manager tried to put Terry Pratchett's Soul Music in African American Interest, however...)

"Also, the "moving the Bible to the fiction section" joke is so old it has hair on it."

That one, and the "putting Gray's Anatomy with the cookbooks" joke. Or putting 120 Days of Sodom with the Harlequin monthlies.

does anyone else get really weird formating of the comments page at metaquotes all the time now? Every time I click a comment link, it's like the CSS is all fucked up and the font's really small and the header images are all over the place. I get it on different computers too.

Unfortunately, Wolverine being in EVERY DAMN MARVEL TITLE EVER ALL AT THE SAME TIME ARGH is soooooooo now.

Luckily, I don't read Marvel. I'm just bitter anyway!

On topic (sort of?), I like the idea of a virus causing men to get weird hormone fluctuations and cramps once a month in theory, but I think that in practice it would just up the homicide rate. Woe.
