The Faery Queen is at it again
You remember the Faery Queen right? Well she's at again.

http://www.livejournal.com/community/childfree/2069719.html

A bit of a back story. This person simply loves to spam the CF board with reports of abused children, when someone points out that it's rather OT and she should check her spelling she flips out.

Half-way down there's an actual discussion of the topic but the wank is something that must be seen to be believed.

Aw, that's what they get for messing with a "feminst" (or "feminsk," as I once saw her spell it, which made me want to ask her how went the women's lib movement in Belarus). I mean hello, "the King's English"? Proper spelling is just a part of the patriarchal plot to make women suffer by... um... taking up precious seconds of their time in which they could be looking for news articles to post to child_free!

I don't care how much time it takes away, or how much they're rebelling against The Man. When I read something I imagine someone speaking aloud just like they type. A flagrantly misspelled and misgrammarred [...new word?] post comes across just like slurred, mumbled garbling would in real life. It 'sounds' like the person just CAN'T SPEAK.

The random slip may happen, and tougher words are bound to be screwed up more often, and hell, I'll even accept not capitalising anything in an entire passage. But Jesus Christicles, outright ignoring grammar and spelling just makes you look like an idiot.

Yes but don't you see the beauty of her fight against the EVAL Spelling Patriarchy? She's misspelling for all of us damnit!

They just didn't understand his messianic message, and Judas Ruby cut him down!

Concentrate on my icon and you will see the truth of this matter!

I'm concentrating and all I see is a superimposition of his exhumed head. That or the fact LHO bore a resemblance to my niece's ex-husband.

Ah, the, erm, "discussion" in the first half there was classic.

You're sad! No, you're sadder! Well, you're sadder-er! Grow up! No, you grow up! I'm not going to reply to you anymore! You either! Not going to reply, nuh-uh! And also grow up, and you're sad! And I'm lazy and this is somehow a justification! And I have a degree and that makes me right, smarty-pants! And if you don't post you're a spy!

Just...beautiful.

[Just...beautiful.]

Isn't it? Did anyone else get a kick out of the 'can't we all just get along' posts? God forbid someone point out that a person's being both off topic and illegible .

I did notice the "we're all in the same community, we should be joining hands and singing Kumbaya" bit near the end that got shot down almost immediately. Though the fighting seemed to be near the end by that point anyway.

Anything [info]the_13th_muse is involved with is going to get wanky. She's largely the reason I got fandomwanked the first time. The sad thing is when I read her journal I agree with some of her opinions, but we can't be friendly because my criticizing her Gary Stu led to her saying that I should be raped with a rusty power tool.

The dyslexic and lazy cards at the same time? That reminds me of a shirt on tshirthell.com (not work safe). I'm not handicapped, I'm just lazy.

Something tells me that the dyslexia part is fiction and the lazy part is true. Or else I've just gotten too cynical to believe anyone on the net anymore.

Really, she makes dyslexic folks look bad. I like to type as opposed to write because I have a handy spell checker and there is no physically possible way to type letters backward.

IMO, though this doesn't really help, anyone who thinks less of a group across the board because of a few idiots like this is being a bit of an idiot themselves.

(Personal stake? You bet. Not with regards to dyslexia, but a few other things.)

Well, actual for real dyslexics likely would be angry at this girl who blows everything off with "I'm dyslexic and lazy". I mean, myself having a disability (not dyslexia), I don't like when people use disabilities as excuses to be jackasses. That's partly why I wonder if this faery queen chick's dyslexia is non-existent. To give her the benefit of the doubt, if she really is dyslexic, it's real tasteless of her to play that card. People with brains will figure that this individual is the idiot and no two dyslexics are alike but it's like when childfree folks go around being nasty and make other childfrees (like myself) get painted with the "psycho" and "child-hater" brush.

It does suck that people are considered equal to the most unintelligent of their group, but it does happen.

Oh sure, I don't disagree with that at all. (and...much better said than my post.) I was just feebly trying to be encouraging about the "you're making us all look bad" part - i.e. "you'd only look bad to somebody who's making snap judgments in the first place."

People like this may or may not be cashing in on real problems. That's hard to tell. Not to get crotchety about it, but these days it seems to be encouraged in American culture.

It does basically suck all around. :/

I couldn't agree more. I really hate it when folks trot out disablities, personal problems, etc as a way of defending themselves when they're called on their shit. It's a cheap tactic that's nearly impossible to counter.
