To pull out, or not to pull out...that is the question.
I know, you're thinking, "Didn't we answer that one in 6th grade health class?" Apparently not.

missmuffcake asks childfree At what age did you know that if you used the 'pull out method' that you would end up pregnant? Am I being an ass when I think a woman in her mid 20s has to be dumb to think that the pull-out method was OK to use and wonders why she is pregnant? Another mouth she cannot really feed on her own...

And my wank sense was tingling already.

Then ikilled007 comes along to announce Actually, the pull out method works great if the guy is not a putz.

Sirriamnis politely corrects ikilled007, who then pulls out (ha!) this astounding fact: Girls who think they got pregnant from pre-cum are delusional.

And it's on.

Highlights include:
>Point is, plenty of women get pregnant off of pre-orgasm man-fluids.
>How do you know? How do you know he didn't partially ejaculate inside her?

And the point where ikilled007 reveals himself to be a guy: I didn't expect an intelligent response from a woman.

Folks respond in kind: He's probably fucking a donkey. I don't think anybody's taught him the difference yet

But some girls stand up for him: You're being attacked for little to no reason, because of the inherent bitchiness of the female species.

And then fuzzyfruit wins teh internets: Because, of course, the plural of anecdote is "data".

Good times. And not one mention of chrotchdroppings so far.

I don't really want to agree with Captain Wanker there, but even PP admits that withdrawal is roughly 70% effective when normal idiots use it and over 90% effective when done right. -_-*

70% is incredibly poor for a modern birth control method, though. (Most sources won't cite a "perfect use" figure because there's too much up in the air.)

Gah, this argument is why I quit reading vaginapagina. So many women on there who state over and over again that pulling out is comparable to using a diaphragm. I don't care what the statistics say, if you are depending 100% on your man pulling out, you are taking a huge risk. Hoping your man is going to pull out is not taking responsibility for yourself, it's putting all of it on him. I have a problem with that, especially on a community that's supposed to offer sound contraceptive advice.

OK, I'll stop ranting now. I feel much better, thanks. :P

If one is truly adamant about not becoming pregnant or becoming responsible for the results of a pregnancy, one has to make sure to be 100% responsible for one's own birth control. Leaving it entirely up to the other party, no matter how effective or practical it is in theory, is not being 100% responsible.
