	And if those icons were reported they'ld face the same warning and punishment as the breastfeeding icons from the wank. LJ Abuse doesn't go out patrolling for TOS violations, LJ's simply too big for it so they depend on people reporting issues and violations. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Maybe but considering the number of lj abuse members, the number of lj users and that lj abuse also has to deal with reports of harassment, trolling and other violations, not extremely practical. (Reply to this)(Parent)

I think it would be inpractical to police default icons like that, since LJ is so big, but it would make more sense to me if default icons didn't show up when users search by region, interest etc. There's no real need for them and it makes pages slightly slower to load. If icons only showed up on journals and comms there wouldn't be a problem, and LJ wouldn't have any reason for a rule which is, by necessity, arbitarily and, it seems, unfairly enforced.

	The bit of icons showing up on searches as a default is fairly recent, iirc. I remember when they announced at news that they redid the search results so now pics show up with EVERY search instead of just some of them. Which only shows that LJ actively instituted it, or something...I'm not sure where I was going with this now. (Reply to this)(Parent)
