	Beyondinsanity's icon im making me a bit queasy. Breastfeeding icons/no breastfeeding, not my business, but holy crap, beyondinsanity, that kid is surely too freaking old to nurse. I think there comes a point where breastfeeding can become, like, icky, you know? 	Not really. It's pretty common, or at least used to be, for kids to nurse through their toddler years, though more for comfort than nutrition. I nursed until I was three, at which point my mother got sick of being bitten. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	I am with you. Still creepy. I believe in breastfeeding. I believe in breastfeeding until kids are nice and old and healthy. But if a kid is old enough to eat solid foods regularly and ask in full sentences to nurse, it's time to stop imho. Do what you want, but I reserve the right to be creeped out. I'm glad someone else was kinda disturbed by that icon. It brought back horrible flashbacks to a news story I read a couple years ago about a creepy hippy mom who breastfed her 5-year-old and was (natch) all self-rightous about it.

I'm all for breastfeeding (it's cheap and convenient!) but damned if I don't start feeling like a squicky line has been crossed when the kid is old enough to walk in and ask for your boobage.
