Racism fights are so annoying. Because apparently, since I'm white, I'm not allowed to have any opinion at all!


Anyhow, although I do question the girl's wording, I could see it, possibly, maybe, depending on the intent, not being racist at all, but rather, a descriptive term used at someone you're mad at. For example, what if she had said "fat bitch" or "blonde bitch" or hell, "redneck bitch". You pick out something obvious about the person and say it. Not the most genius way to speak, but hey, I'm not sure it's all that bad.

It depends on what you mean to evoke by using that descriptor. "Blonde bitch" would call to mind stereotypes of blondness - entitlement, obliviousness, stupidity. "Fat bitch" would bring an image of lack of self-control and less worth as a person, and often brings the wank - but, when describing someone pigging out on free samples, might actually be relevant. "Chinese-speaking..." what, the lady in the stroller is a bad driver and is really good at math? There's no reason for it to be there, and is a red herring of a descriptor that reveals that the OP has a problem with Chinese, either the language or the people or both.

She used linguistic (and its associated racial) status as a pejorative when it was completely irrelevant to the anecdote. Unless she does, in fact, say "English-speaking bitch" as a descriptive (which she does not), like saying "man" or "woman," then yeah, she's using it in a way that is offensive.

See, people are funny, they never notice race until someone of a different race pisses them off, then their world becomes a magical world of rainbow colors. She used Chinese-speaking as an insult, and it shouldn't be one.

And "I totally didn't mean it like that!" isn't a get out of jail free card and shouldn't ever be.

The um..."coon" people....made my brain hurt. Now, if my brain were covered by darker skin, it would probably be hurting a lot more.

My mom, who used to teach in the New Orleans Public Schools, got called a "stupid white bitch" quite often. And I'd sigh, and wonder why, why couldn't they just say "stupid bitch?" Did it not occur to the OP that she'd get reamed simply because she couldn't be arsed to leave out "Chinese-speaking?" So, she's a retard and/or a troll.
