More from W_R, because I am their bitch. Wasn't sure if this was for F_W or OTF, but decided the wank was not specifically about the fandom in question.
Over on the comm queer_rage, there has been some debate about the rules. Specifically the rule that offensive language is bad! Especially the word bitch as it is derogatory to women. (This rule is apparently void if said word is used positively *confused look*)

sprockey, who comes to q_r to rant about Alexander. He's mad as hell, why? He wasn't expecting a "hetero smutfest".
Every twenty minutes or so, Jared Leto would hug Colin Farrell and profess his feelings, whilst Colin Farrell stood there like a big simian Irishman, face as blank as the inpatients of Bellvue on Lobotomy Thursday. Then, after about thirty seconds of "passionate" embrace, they would immediately show Alexander drooling at anorexic belly dancers or bulemic harem girls for at least five minutes straight.
Most people agree with the assessment. Then
lupabitch comments with a minor nitpick.
can you please not refer to thin women as "anorexic" and "bulemic"? First off, not all thin women (or men) have an eating disorder. Second, not all people with eating disorders are thin. And three, as a survivor of anorexia myself, I took issue with your negative implications towards people with eating disorders.
leswamp responds that lupa is bitching at the wrong person. they were showing us these emaciated bimbos to represent women of the 300 BC era when the standard of beauty was nothing like the psychotic and destructive media fantasy being perpetuated today.
When someone points out that 'bimbos' isn't exactly a great word to use either, Sprockey shows up. Leswamp never said all women are bimbos; she merely said those women are bimbos...which they are. None of us are going to get anywhere if we fight amongst ourselves over petty nonsense, and refuse to see the forest instead of the trees. Women and gays will never truly be equal if they can't be discussed freely without fear of reprimand by the P.C. Police. We need less stigmatization of gender and sexual orientation, not more.
Words aren't evil, only the sentiments they are used to express.
And it just erupts from there.
Eventually the mod shows up and lays the banhammer down on sprockey.
Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeey you're really fucking sexist. And also really fucking banned! Reading the rules might have been thoughtful. But you can't be bothered and neither can I.
Elsewhere in the comm,
fabfemmeboy appears to weigh in on the wank.
I think it's fair to say that we all have terms, phrases, etc. that push our buttons. But I also think it's fair to say that if we took out all the words that have ever been considered offensive to anyone, we would have a language devoid of nouns, verbs, adjectives, and pronouns. We'd be left with a handful of adverbs and a series of grunts and points.
Also: This is a _rage community. Meaning? There is a VERY good chance that when we post here, we're pissed the fuck off. It is HUMAN NATURE to snark and use non-PC terms when you are venting your frustration.
THE USE OF SAID TERMS IS **NOT** (I repeat 'NOT!') AN INDICATION THAT SAID PERSON UTILIZING THE TERMS IS ANTI-WOMA(/Y)N, ANTI-BIMBO, ANTI-EATING DISORDER, RACIST, HETEROPHOBIC, CHAUVENISTIC, ETC. It means...oh yeah, we're raging!
And the members go at it again. And once again, the mod appears and says "U R BANNED!"
Meanwhile, sprockey runs off to his LJ to whine about "those crazy bitches" on q_r.
Apparently, the feminists on the group are more interested in defending women who degrade themselves on screen for money (and attention) than they are in banding together with people who agree with them on the important issues.
