Moving up from clairvoyantwank...

It's the boob nazis again!

[info]janisfan makes a post in the community pregnant.

"These press releases will be sent to every major newspaper and television station across the United States. We have a team of people currently working on getting them out."

[info]cassandrakfreaq compares the breast feeding icon incident to black oppression.

[info]calilillie and [info]prime_radiant are fighting for the boob nazi side in several places, [info]prime_radiant is mostly telling people not to comment on a community post they don't agree with.

Also, a comment to [info]cassandrakfreaq regarding their comparison of the boob nazis and black oppression was deleted. Is this an indication of more bahleetion in the future?

ETA: Replies against the boob nazis are being frozen! Perhaps it's time to take screencaps.

ETA #2: As a bonus, a mousie sent me a link to a new press release about a planned nurse-in at Six Apart's headquarters.

Please. Kill it. Kill it with fire. I am so sick of hearing about how LJ apparently ruined their lives, hates their babies, and set a burning bag of dog poo on their internet doorstep. Maybe there are some valid points in the entire mess, but I've had it.

On a more serious note, I'm also gonna laugh at any paper that actually picks this up as a news story. There's terrible things going on around the world every day, but no! We need to cover the oppreshun of boobies with babies on the internet!

How hard is it to pick something else for your default icon? LJ has never said you can't have the icons, you just have to pick something more discreet as a default. Why is this such a difficult concept for people to grasp?

I fully support a woman's right to breastfeed in public. I don't want kids of my own, but if I changed my mind and did have them, I'd probably breastfeed them myself. But I've had it up to *here* with all these women shoving their tits in my face every time I surf around LJ.

I don't care if the baby is attached to the nipple or not-- all these breastfeeding icons are annoying and distracting, and creep me out. They're taking something that should be a private, special moment between mother and child and forcing it on me, and I don't appreciate it at all. If they want respect, they have to give it as well, and that includes thinking of all of the other users at LJ. Not everyone wants to see your tits, areola and all, much less with your kid attached to it. Plzkthx.

Honestly, I'm for having Six Apart just suspend the accounts of those whining about it, whether they're in violation or not. You know, before these last 2 months, I never really got how insane people are about breastfeeding.

Then I made post on a forum, and a comment here, about it and got chewed out over not liking to see a perfectly natural event blah blah, and am now convinced that breast milk makes people CRAZY.

I have doctors telling me to wean my son when the american academy of pediatrics even states that a child should be nursed till 2 years old.

Why can't they just shut up? Is it really so hard to turn off the goddamn computer and go do something else? Preferably with their OMG!!OPRESSED breastfed children? I just realised something.

They're spending all of this time wanking about how they're oppressed, how they're suffering, and how they're whining that they can't do what they want with their kid.

Have any of them actually thought about their kid? If I had a mom who spent more time online than with me, posted icons of her breast feeding me to support her crusade, and dragged me off to some protest to scream about herself, which involves a pretty personal activity that directly involves me, I might want to have Words with her once I learned how to talk, cuss creatively, and get a lawyer.

What's next? Screaming about how you can only bottle feed in The Sims? Yeesh.

Why oh why can't they get it through their heads that LJ did not say breastfeeding was sexual or obscene. They said it was explicit, look up the word in websters and it means "open in depiction of nudity or sexuality" SO expicit can be nudity, or sexual or both, but explicit nudity does not mean explicit sexuality. Or are they just too busy being perfect, yet oppressed mommies to look in a dictionary.

They need to drop this thing now before they make the whole breastfeeding movement look stupid and crazy to the mainstream public.
