Unfortunately it's very real. There are some people in the Netherlands who have started a political party who want to lower the age of consent from 16 to 12, so that sex between a 12 year old and say a 30 year old would be legal. They also want to lower the minimum age for being in a porn movie from 18 to 16.

Thing is, just because they're a political party doesn't mean squat. It's not like any other political party will want to form a majority in the cabinet with them.
