The Sidekick Drama
I imagine a few of you already know about this story, but here it is for all of you who delight in Internet drama. Btw, I think it's a genuine story, but I apologize in advance if it's revealed as a hoax.

So, to put in a nutshell, a girl lost her T-Mobile Sidekick (worth something like $300) in a taxi. She offered a reward to get it back, but the person(s) who found the Sidekick kept it for themselves. People from the family of the Sidekick stealer use it to take pics of themselves and to log in their AOL and MySpace accounts. Not a smart move, as apparently the rightful owner can keep track of what's happening.

Anyway, the friend of the girl who lost her Sidekick is a bit pissed off. As revenge is a dish best served cold, he creates a webpage about the story.

I want people to realize that what goes around, comes around. (...) This is a HUMANITY endeavor. I want these people SHAMED into realizing what they have done. The man below in the pic is 25 years old. He should know better.

Word spreads on the Internet, and he even gets some threat emails:

Listen you dumb mother fucker my sister bought that phone from some cab driver so what the fuck do you want . shes not going to return it if she bought it, and I am military police so dont give me that bullshit about you going to the cops over a lost phone the nypd has better things to do then to worry about your friend losing her phone. you better stop harrasing my sister or you'll have to deal with me and you dont want that

Nice, no? I bet the military are going to really thrilled by this guy's attitude.

Anyway, many of the people watching the drama unfold are going slightly crazy or transforming themselves into Stalker!Zorro, as proves one email sent to the friend:

"Hey, just to let you know, i got a little bored this afternoon and camcorder in hand attempted to make contact with the suspect... it did not go well. (...) The real address is XXXXXXX. Anyways, her landlord came out and called the cops on me while i was sitting in my car"

Isn't that creepy charming? I'm completely amazed by the proportions this is taking.
