Childfree customers_suck wankage
In the ever so entertaining customers suck community in LJ, KtPinto posts about her day at work. Apparently, a woman came in just after KtPinto is told "no more cars" by the manager, and says she has a flat. KtPinto says "Sorry, no more cars." Woman responds that if the garage closes at 5, and she's here at 4, that should be doable. KtPinto says it's not, and there's some back and forthing. Managers are called, the woman being the mother of three kidlets is brought up... as well as her not knowing how to put a donut on the car to get her by until the next day... woman eventually leaves without tire change.

Kind of a mutual suckage on that one, but this is what brought the wank:

Funnily, if she hadn't used the 'but I have kids' card, I may have been more apt to help her. But don't play that with me. It's not my fault you have kids. If it's so damn important for your kids that there not be a flat on your car, learn how to handle the situation yourself (ie: learn how to put a donut on the car or have the number handy of someone who does) and leave me alone.

Full post here.

Wankage starts with the first comment by BSDetector93.

BSDetector93: Wow, you're a pathetic dork.

And the back and forthing of "She didn't need to bring up the kids," "But OP was doing what she was told," "Shouldn't one know how to do basic car maintenance?" "But what if..." happens.

It's like a mini-calvalcade of past wankers... go look, look at the lists of names.

Most amusing is the ever so lovely Tigerwolf, who is told "Plz to be shutting up, you make my side look stupid" by Opheliainlove.

More mention of the self-cleaning anus! here.

It's a thing of beauty.

Dear Hardcore CFers,

The mother didn't expect commercial establishments to pick up the slack for her just because she had kids. She walked into a store that closed at 5pm at 4pm, needing their service for something that THEY SHOULD BE DOING. What made you think that she was expecting more than that?

*headsdesk*

Also, OP was not doing her job just by calling the manager. WTF. She said she would have been more happy to help if the customer hadn't said she had kids. What sort of customer service is that? WTH.

While there are times when a store would stop accepting new orders/work after a certain time, but really, if the store's opening hours say that it's opened till 5pm, they should be accepting customers till 5pm. What sort of service is that?! GRRR

And as always, the fact that the lady had kids and dared to mention them makes her a sucky customer. Because kids are no different than adults, doncha know, and can hail a cab if they get a flat. Don't mention your kids, guys, or you'll be refused service!!

Childfree wanks fill me with the best kind of irony. I suspect a large number of the Childfree Wankers are childfree because they are children.

My FAVORITE comment so far:

"In the Great Libertarian Utopia where none of us ever depend upon another human being (and those who attempt to are summarily executed), these silly situations will be solved they way they should be: with a HAIL OF BULLETS."

Oh, shit. Between the Tigerwolf beatdown and this, my stomach hurts from laughing.

Why to people keep calling the tire a donut, tire is shorter? I'm a fully fledged pedestrian, my car knowledge goes as far as opening the door climbing in and fastening seat belt.

I know quite a few blokes who can't change tire though, why is it OMG, such a huge deal when women don't know how.

As far as I know, learning how to change a tire is part of the driving test in England now, which is good I guess.

Excuse me while I just run outside for a minute to grab any random bloke, because I have a strong urge to pop out crotchdroppings just to spite some of those CF_hardcorers.

I shall post pictures of my baby anywhere they reside, and breastfeeding icons! Must not forget those! I will have the cheek to leave the house with crotchdroppings, and LE GASP! I may even ask for help with something that is harder to do when you have crotchdroppings running around your ankles, how irresponsible of me, asking for help when I am in a tight spot. Oh yes, I will also use the child parking spaces at my supermarket, and the pram friendly buses, and yes, that means I expect you to move your arse out of the pram friendly spot.

DUDE! Did these people never grow up or something. Welcome to the adult world! Where it isn't all about ME! ME! ME! ME! ME!

Um. I don't know how it is in the US, but I would never visit a mechanic here and expect them to have time for me right at this very moment. Calling ahead and only having to wait a few days = spiffy!

A service place that is booked up is not the same as a store that closes before promised times.

However, since everyone talks about the AAA, couldn't they have given that number to the poor woman?

Good to know. When/If I have kids, instead of going to the shop right next to where my tire blew, I'll change it on my own. I'm sure the people in the shop will watch my kids for me while I'm doing this.

I'm glad that some people have never rqeuired assistance in a bind in their entire lives. Really, good for them. However, some people are not so lucky. Refusing service to a stranded mother on the basis of the fact that OMG SHE HAS CROTCHDROPPINGS doesn't make you cool and hip, it makes you an ASSHAT.

Everyone keeps mentioning AAA. Umm. I can afford gas and insurance on my car (barely). What do you do when you can't afford AAA and don't have friends/family you can call?

Now, granted, I can change a tire, but still... if I couldn't, what do you do then?

As someone who has been stuck between a lower-life-form of a manager and a passionate customer, I would normally have sympathy for the OP, but the childfree wankage ruins any chance of that.

However...

The manager said he'd see if anyone would stay, but most of the guys had already changed and were halfway out the door...

An hour to go at a mechanics, and these guys are already walking out? And not one was going to just change a tire, or at least show her how to do a donut? I'm surprised these guys get any customers at all with that kind of shithouse work ethic.

So there's a lady here, who broguht her kids to an office building, and she's letting them run free, screaming and yelling (Well, she's making attempts to calm them to no avail). But even if she came to my other job(Subway), and did the same thing, I would smile and serve her. even help her if she needed it. Why? IT's my job to be nice. and I may not plan on having children, and don't care for them, but if people want to have kids, that's their choice.

Basically, the OP should be shown into bad_service.

I'm not coherent. *falls dead from wank*

Funnily, if she hadn't used the 'but I have kids' card, I may have been more apt to help her.

By doing... what? Putting the donut on herself? Fixing the tire? I'd like to know what more help this self-righteous desk jockey had in her back pocket, because from where I sit, it's not more help that she had on tap, but perhaps more sympathy that she refused to dole out.

"How come, right after my manager tells me to take in no more service tickets for the garage, does a woman with three rug rats come in and tell me that she has a flat tire?"

Probably because she's not clairvoyant and/or does not have supersonic hearing?

"Cast
Me - Tire Goddess
BWK - Bitch with kids"

Does she really want to be known as a ...Tire Goddess? I mean, it's nice to have goals in life, but really. Aim a little higher.

I always find the but-I-have-kids excuse perilously close to accusing me of having impregnated them. Sometimes emotional appeals are not the way to go. I think the woman would have had more luck if she had been more rational.

Or she could just have had some life skills and known how to change it herself. It's not like she didn't have three ready-made helpers.

First come, first serve at the garage I use anyway.

. . . I love the argument in [info]cf_hardcore that if you can't afford AAA, you can't afford to drive.

Um. Yeah. Apparently, my family can't afford to drive, because we've never been able to afford AAA. Not that it really matters, because my father's a retired mechanic who still plays with cars in his spare time, but still.

AAA is not a necessity. If you have family that can't do anything for you, then keep the number of the local tow service on hand. Learn how to change your own tires. Failing that, find a friend who knows how, and have their number on hand if you need it.

Also? When did [info]customers_suck become [Bad username: customers_with_children_suck]? You think they would have announced the change. :/

Most flats are not so horrible that $.50 at a gas station air machine won't do enough to get you home.

I live within walking distance of a tire shop and have only gone there once, to get a plug in a tire that wouldn't hold air. But, when I was 45 minutes from home up at my college, and found it flat, I went to a gas station, filled it with air, and got it home. I went to the tire shop about a week later, because the tire wasn't holding air.

Also, the amount of people who say they can't change a tire scare me. Or the people that say the jack's been removed from their car. (Why would anyone do this?) I understand that sometimes the air tools used at commercial places get the lugnuts on too tight, that's why you check them when you get home and set them to the recommended pressure, which IS low enough for nearly everyone to get the lugnuts off.

...actually, I think the main problem is people don't check on their car, so then the problems are major. If you drive around with a flat for awhile, you will ruin the tire. But if you check the air pressure every once and awhile, you'd notice things like that. >_

I think a lot of people imagine life as a sort of movie where they're playing the role of the snarky, sassy, tell-it-like-it-is heroine, who grabs life by the balls and doesn't take shit from *anyone*. Without realizing that bitching out some mother whose kid is crying in the line at McDonald's isn't quite the same as fighting supervillains bent on world destruction.

I can change a tire myself. I know how, I've done it before. But strangely, every time I've gotten a flat on a road somewhere, I get out of the car, open the trunk, pull out the manual to refresh my memory because I never quite remember how the jack is put together ... and someone pulls over and changes the tire for me. I'm not even a cute young skinny thing. I recommend this course of action if one is female, not in a scary location and unable, for whatever reason, to change the tire herself. Just because I can do it doesn't mean I don't appreciate someone else helping me. :D

(The other thing I've noticed is that it's always been a working-class guy in a beat-up work truck who stops and helps. The time my coolant thingy* cracked and released large, scary gouts of steam into the air, I pulled off the road next to an exit from a country club. Over the next hour, until the tow truck I'd called got there, approximately 342345453 very expensive cars and SUVs passed right by me, and a grand total of one of them rolled down his window and asked if I needed help.)

* A technical term.

[info]tigerwolfThat's the thing. It's not just ONE WOMAN who does that shit, expecting special treatment because she's popped a shitling. It's FREQUENT and MANY women do it. They think EVERYONE should like children and should bend over backwards to do things for them just because they've got sprogs. It's bullshit.
