CF comms go to war
Wank spewage in [info]cf_hardcore about a now baleeted fireworks entry in [info]childfree reposted here and referenced here. Lots of declarations that [info]childfree has gone to the breeders, and announcements that it's sickening.

ETA: It's spreading. There's wank in [info]stupid_free and the mod's apology thread is getting all sticky. Thanks to all who pointed out more wank.

It's perfectly possible to like children, and not want any of your own. I like all manner of pets, but I plan on only having cats. the best part about baby sitting or bouncing a baby on your knee is that when it cries/poops/hollers, you just hand it back to it's parent. :) That's why being child free != hating children.

The way I see it, when kids are annoying you you have two options that could stop them.

a) tell the parents/kid politely that it would be nice of the kid to stay a bit quieter

b) go somewhere else and enjoy from there

Meh. Normally I just roll my eyes at the CF_hardcore folk, but this time they have a point. It's a childfree community, the OP was bitching about an incredibly annoying, bratty kid, and the mod let parents take her to task for it? Outside a cf community, okay, but surely you should be allowed to complain about annoying, bratty kids in a CF community without having snotty parents come down on you.

FWIW, most firework displays I attend include music (some even have live concerts), and have the fireworks go off in time to the music. It's pretty cool, and even though there are oohs and aahs, a constantly wailing kid would really be a distraction.

1. I do not accept the testimony of any CF or CF Hardcore member as to the behavior of parents or children as I suspect they're all more than capable of embellishing those accounts.

2. It would be very useful for someone to educate the CF that some times, and unfortunately some times in public, ignoring a screaming fit IS the appropriate disciplinary tactic.

3. In my town, taking the kid to the car and leaving is impossible, as the streets are all closed except for emergency vehicles for the run of the fireworks display.

cf_hardcore seriously needs to re-evaluate their "flame resistant" bullshit because I am not buying it. I'm so sick of the freetards. It is one thing to be CF (I'm cf for fuck sake), but it is another thing to act like a completely inane idiot that sits around moaning and groaning about something that any reasonable person with a good head on their shoulders could easily block out and/or ignore. And is it just me or does using terms such as "crotch dropping" and "cunt muffin" make the person using them look all the more immature and ridiculous than they already are?

Some of these losers really need to remove themselves from the gene pool stat.

I can't believe I'm siding with cf_hardcore here, but - holy crap. The OP rants about annoying kids at a public outing, a parent says "You mean they were acting like ... GASP, KIDS!??!" and it's the people who OBJECT that get banned? For fuck's sake. It's not "childfree_but_come_tell_us_about_your_way_awesome_kids."

I just looked at cf_hardcore for the first time and was surprised by the lack of teh crayzee. Of course, my only previous experience of them has been through secondhand wankage, so...

I'm not sure why there's really a need for CF communities - I'm a CF'er and I don't feel any particular need to sign up and get my life choice validated. And I don't understand a lot of the hostility expressed toward children. Sure, kids can be annoying (and I've bitched about annoying kids, too) but a lot of it seems a bit extreme to me. And I don't get the loathing of babies, either. Several people said they have "dead eyes" like "slugs" - WTF?

OK, I'm done ranting now.
