wank and society rant
The anti-sinners

Well, well, well.

First of all, I have nothing against Christians, or any religion for that matter. I have nothing against God--I love Him and I believe in Him.

But, after all these years, to the question, "why do you think homosexuality is wrong", can you people only come up with this single response---

"...because it says it in the bible nanananana!"?

People do not choose homosexuality. Unless you are a homosexual, a bisexual or something to that matter, you won't understand how it feels. As stated in one of the messages, many people kill themselves, hurt themselves because they were raised in a fuckedup society that said that they were going to hell because of the way they felt. The way they felt. Some say it's not a sin, but it is a sin to act on it.

Tell me, anti-sinners, what is it you tell us to do? Should we just lie to ourselves everyday and make ourselves love the opposite sex because it's holy?

I am so sick of it. Even though some of the messages are so wanky and hilarious, I'd rather say the rest are completely delusional based.

You don't have to like homosexuality, support it, or contribute to it in any manner. You think it's a sin? Fine. You think we're sinners? Fine. But, what people do to the socalled homosexual sinners are far worse.

Yes, it's true. They ridicule them, they ruin their lives, do anything to make them think it's wrong--this portion are mainly homophobics, and you know the saying--

"you don't like the grease but how come you eat it?" (made that up)

Yup, yup. Some homophobics are known to be homosexuals themselves who are afraid of who they are.

So, really, you think homosexuals, bisexuals do it just for the hell of it? It's just a game of monoply is it? Get the cash, it was fun for a while, sinned for a while, now time to be holy again.

Nono. Fine, all of those people ranting and whining and anti-ying on the message boards, wake up the fucking next day--and say to yourself, "I am gay."

Let's see how much of a choice it really is.

Homosexuality is not natural (not in God's original plan) and to participate in it is sinful.

I somehow doubt giant skyscrapers were in God's original plan (after all, he smote the really tall building people had been trying to build), but I don't hear him calling cities sinful.
I'm pretty sure that nowhere in the Bible does it mention the internet, so obviously that's not part of God's original plan. And yet he's logged onto an online forum. SINNER! (Or rather, dumbass.)
Did God ever mention gourmet food? Or really anything more than bread and fishes and such? I don't hear him railing against those sinners who go out to restaurants. (Pretty sure God didn't mention pizza delivery, either.)
I'm pretty sure God didn't mention this guy getting a foot up the ass, but I'd sure like to commit THAT sin.

And what about researchers finding homosexual behavior in animals, such as bonobo chimpanzees and penguins? They didn't go looking for it, but there it was.

Actually, isn't there a book out which is basically all about animal homosexuality and other "deviant" (note quotes) behaviors, and how many biologists came up with incredibly lame and scientifically untenable excuses so they wouldn't have to acknowledge it? "Oh, that female chimp is humping that other female chimp as, uh...a greeting. Yeah. It's not about sex!"

"Oh, that female chimp is humping that other female chimp as, uh...a greeting.

Sounds like a great way of saying hello to me. ;p

The human race needs to adopt that as a new form of greeting.

A book claiming to "explain" deviant sexual behaviour in animals?

Say, is it recent enough to have covered the necrophiliac gay duck yet?

I wonder what these people (the anti-sinners, I mean) would think about my dog, whose humped male and female dogs (and humans)? I guess my doggie's going to burn, isn't he? ;P

Careful, he might actually LIKE that.

Personally I find people like this, well, for lack of a better term, sad. They seem utterly unable to think for themselves and make their own decisions.

I guess it is easier following what a thousand year old book says than actually trying to use your brain.

"Homosexuality is not natural (not in God's original plan) and to participate in it is sinful."

And you know this to be a fact how? One of those armchair conversations with the Big Man Himself, huh?

Oh, WAIT! It's in the BIBLE! Silly me! That book that was written by a bunch of fallible HUMAN BEINGS!

Piss off, dumbass.

THANK YOU! And don't forget errors and bias in translation, which was done by fallible human beings as well.

And let us not forget the many different *versions* of the Bible available to meet your every holier-than-thou need! Pick the interpretation that suits your prejudice/need to be vindicated/afterlife fantasy best! Something for everyone!

It's hopeless. They're starting from premises that have no discernable relation to reality.

When one can avoid the naturalistic fallacy by saying "God's will" and selectively observing nature, there's no limit to what one can justify.

It's people like this that give Christians a bad name.

God may have given you the Bible, but he also gave you a brain. Note that the same parts of the Bible that say homosexual acts are a sin (and note that nowhere does it say that having homoerotic thoughts is a sin) also say wearing mixed fibers and eating shellfish is also a sin.

Soemday I just got to snag me a copy of the Bible and read that part for ammo. Or just sic a few of my Christian friends on these people.

The bible talks about figs and fig trees (condemning them, natch) about as often as it talks about homosexuality.

Where are the Fig Newton boycotts?

I went to that site and read a few of the threads and I thought about wading in. What would be the point though? In a conclave like that one nothing I would have said would have made the slightest bit of difference and would likely have been met with condescending 'We will pray for your poor, besmirched, battered soul, you misguided sinner" which is usually what happens no matter how well-reasoned or carefully thought out your statement is.

It's very much like arguing with 3 year old children about why they really can sleep without their blankie...nothing will convince them that they can, so you just let them have the damn thing. With the holier-than-thou set "it says so in the Bible" is the bottom line. Period.

Still...I get the urge to go in swinging when I read crap like that.

Dumbasses.

There is a community on LJ called queerbychoice which refutes the notion that all gays are gay inherently by birth. I think it is closed minded and offensive to them and the many gays who have made this choice to insist that they were born that way. We have no absolute proof that that is true, but those with an agenda use it to move forward politically.

Without the Bible, there is no basis for Jesus Christ, yet you say that Christians should not pay attention to it. That is like saying stop believing in Jesus. Can you so easily give up what you believe?
