Over at [info]gay_sex_tips, [info]grumpygus posts about a failed one night stand that ended with his finding out that his to-be partner was FtM transgendered. He then concludes, "This is just another experience that solidifies my opinion that all FTM's I have ever met are deceitful in their efforts to bed gay men."

[info]republicat thinks that those girls should just stop pretending. After all, he has science on his side.

Also, metaphors don't work if one of the things compared has to do with sex while the other doesn't.

BTW, there's reason that the external genitalia are called "secondary" sexual characteristics, because even biologically, they are NOT the main determiner of gender, believe it or not.

... Hate to piss on this one's parade, really, but. Uhm. No. Secondary sexual charactertistics are specifically NOT the genitalia, so please to be getting off my side, you're making it look like we're fishing.

Has it changed in the last ten years? What they taught me in biology class was that the primary ones were gonads and/or presence of appropriate chromosomes, secondary were external genitalia and tertiary were things like boobs and hips/shoulders breadth, facial hair etc.

So basically, while trying to successfully live one's life as the appropriate gender, you should make sure to tell everyone you meet that you actually used to be a different sex? To be honest, that really does kind of defeat the purpose of transitioning; it's really hard to become the person you feel you are meant to be if you've got to constantly be reminding people that you aren't "really" that person, and just pretending. Okay, he ought to have mentioned it before the pants came off. But to be honest, if he's that well-known in the bar, and used to everybody knowing he has a vagina, then I can understand forgetting to mention it. And grumpygus being shocked and not having sex with this person, fine, lovely, not into vaginas, we get it. But lord, boy, there's no need to be a dick about it (so to speak). This boy probably has a hard enough life without your trans-hate. Give him the benefit of the doubt, assume it was an honest mistake, and go find yourself another random stranger to suck your dick.
