Because disabled people don't play RPGs! I hesistated to put this in And baby's first wank! So hopefully there will be enough information, and whatnot. Onto the wank! Jenias_Perta_Ectara posts a plea for Anet (the makers of Guild Wars, an MMORPG) to rethink the new colour scheme and detail, as her vision sensitivity makes it impossible for her to play with the new settings. She also has disabilities which make it hard for her to leave her house, and thus Guild Wars is the way for her to make friends. In response, furikuriallday posts a rant asking to boycott Nightfall because of the updates, as there are many other complaints of players getting headaches and having eye problems in result. This girl's story touched my heart, so much that I think her story should not die in a flurry of posts, /signed by semi-concerned gamers, and a bit of an explanation by Gaile Gray herself. This is an actual issue that I think you should all know about. We all know Anet really doesn't give a sh*t about one person's inability to pla guildwars, hell, we don't pay monthly, so as soon as we purchase, they really don't have any incetives to keep us playing. Wank ensues. Here are some of the highlights: The obligatory "I'm not going along with the boycott 'cause you said to" response. "Guild Wars made me cold hearted, and disabled people aren't right about everything!" Yet another obligatory "I laughed on 9/11" response. "I really only care about friends and family. I never help strangers!" "Why are you using this poor disabled girl for your own agenda?!?!?!" Someone attempts to post Earth Logic and is, in fact, ignored completely. "She just joined this forum this month! Then how could she be playing the game for over 900 hours?" Throw in a bit more Earth Logic here and there, some tastless jokes about the mentally disabled, and, finally, The Mod is not amused and shuts down the post. Perhaps and bit small and not as wanky as most, but it has it entertaining moments. |
