Gonna have to report CO again.
I swear, anytime a human turns up in a picture there . . .

Anyway, there's a post of a cute Korean baby and li'l white puppy. Surprisingly, though, the expected "Ew, baybeez!" wank barely makes an appearance.

See, the last in the sequence of pictures is the baby putting its mouth on the puppy. That, almost needless to say, triggers some "LOLZ Asians eat dogs!" comments. Which, in turn, trigger race!wank for like unto two hundred comments. Do Asians eat dogs? If so, is it okay to make jokes about it? And is the word "Oriental" outmoded and racist? Read on to find out!

Also, the pictures are serious sugar shock, so be forewarned. That is one *adorable* baby.

Man, I just knew that one was going to degenerate into wank. It was still relatively tame when I had to leave work. I love how Theo linked to the baby biting a kitten just to fan the flame a bit.

Yesterday's pic of a bunch of baby bunnies was almost primed for wankage too, with several people saying they looked like "feeder rabbits."

*shrugs* Filipinos eat dogs. Beef and pork are expensive while dogs are readily available and free. (Just corner a stray, make sure you don't get bitten.) We also eat fertilized duck eggs (balut). And I don't know if it's true, but I'm told the stuffing in siopao (those soft white buns in Chinese fastfoods) is cat, not pork. I love cats, and I love siopao. In the immortal words of, uh, someone: I love animals. They taste great.

OK, so, anyone else want to smack Tony James and his "Enygma - "oriental" means "eastern". Perhaps you can explain how this word is offensive. Are we no longer allowed to refer to things in terms of where the are relative to where we stand? Perhaps we should start saying things like "The frontier states during a specific period of America's development where lawlessness was in evidence among some, but not all those who lived there," instead of "the wild west"?"

Adorable baby. Adorable puppy. The combined cuteness factor could be lethal in the wrong hands. Finally, a wank on otf_wank that doesn't make me lose my faith in humanity and want to drink Drain-O!* Viva la cute!

Completely gratuitous story time: my then-three-year-old niece fed little pieces of popcorn chicken to my kitty until kitty felt brave enough to come out and get snuggled by all the Scary New People. Kitty then started eating the chicken bits out of my niece's hand, at which point my niece started squeeing and bouncing and I nearly died from the cute. This has nothing to do with anything, I just wanted to share.
