Over on mock_the_stupid, yavi_no_hikari posts about something her grandfather said about a bumper sticker.(I personally think her grandfather's adorable for what he said.)
Everything seems fairly normal, until liberationparty gets a bee up her ass over the OP's proper use of the word 'rape' in a context that does not involve sexual assault:
Would it be possible for you to constrain use of the word "rape" to its proper context in the future? I know too many people on LJ for whom rape is a triggering term, evoking an all-too-visceral experience. Using it in jest when it could trigger panic attacks and worse in others seems insensitive at best. Please think about it.
