This is old -- starting back in July -- but it's still wanky And the biggest piece of wank I've seen in my religion yet.

Some people think the idea of Tribal Law is a good thing. (For the record, I'm not one of them).Back last February or so, the announcement of a Logretta -- a combination law council and court -- was made to several Heathen lists. Kindreds and tribes could join the Logretta, and their members would be held to the decisions of the Logretta. The Logretta was only supposed to apply to people who agreed to be bound by it.

Remember this bit.

At the time of announcement, I posted on a private list that I thought things would hit the fan when the Logretta tried to judge someone who wasn't a member.

And damn, was I right.

Oh, it got better. Or at least, out in the public eye.

See, a couple months ago they posted an announcemnet outlawing some scumbag who was caught trying to molest a kid at a moot. Seems he was on probation for child molestation. So he went back to jail. This announcement was posted at the asatru community on LJ, and some idiot tried to make it sound like the Logretta had actually done something more than post the announcement: "You dis them until you need them, huh?" Or something like that.

Idiocy knows no bounds.

From what I understand -- how the notice of the outlawing was written -- the molestation wasn't discovered and reported until after the moot.

The scum's in jail until August 2007.
