Small Wank
Over at [info]saucydwellings on LJ, [info]languid_ardor posts pictures of a dwelling that isn't very saucy. When someone justifiably asks where the sauce-factor is, it becomes apparent that our poster hasn't taken her chill-pill today.

Snarky wanking ensues.

It also becomes apparent that our poster doesn't have a high opinion of [info]saucydwellings in the first place, which just makes you wonder.

EDIT: A second post from our dear wanky friend, which causes even more wank when she asks if someone with a negative opinion is a designer.

Also, it appears that [info]languid_ardor and [info]yellowsnakepoet are one and the same, and has been wanky before. Surprise! I'm surprised. Are you surprised?

Just to clarify, I also feel I should make note of the fact that generally, if someone doesn't like a room that's been posted, they just don't reply or reply politely with contructive crit and an obligatory compliment. In this case however, [info]languid_ardor seems to have incited a frenzy of "your taste sucks" brand bitchiness, which is in some ways, a very refreshing change.

What is it about that "I got kicked out of Barnes and Noble" icon that makes people into complete asshats?

I swear, I see it at least once a month, and every time, the person using it is an ass.

I think the kind of person attracted to it has something to do with it. I think it's funny but over-used because certain people think 'ZOMG- is the funny!!11!!!'.

This is the first time I've seen it, and the only thing I could think was, "Barnes and Noble has an action section?" Then I reread it and felt blinder than usual.

I've never found it very funny. But that could be because I worked at B&N for many, many years and had to clean up after that sort of "oh-so creative" prank constantly.

It's not as original as people like to think.

I think the icon is primarily used by asshats because the behavior it talks about is, well, really pretty asshatty.

I did something like that once, when I was much younger -- I moved "The Windows Bible" and "The Photoshop Bible" and so on to the religion section.

But then a B&N employee came and yelled at me, so I put them back.

I was not a very rebellious child.

Gee, could it be because it's the sort of icon only a dyed-in-the-wool wanker would use? And it's ugly to boot?

I don't allow wankers on my Flist, so I'm curious as to what other icons serve as instant harbingers of wank.

You know, that place looks a helluva lot better than where I am currently so it's nice to me but not saucy. It could be saucy with some decorating but I'm in agreement with the other community members there- no sauce in her saucy.

I've seen people get insane because not everyone squeed over the same fandom as them. I've never seen someone get insane because not everyone squeed over the same apartment as them.

What the hell is she on about anyway? It's a plain, cookie-cutter, cheap high-density area dwelling. I've lived in tons of them. It's not saucy - it's bland and boring.

That kitchen she sneeringly linked to, though - that's great. Way to prove everyone else's point, you knob.

Oh man I think that dwelling is gorgeous. I'm not sure about "saucy", but it's way clean and well-lit and cozy without being cramped...I wish.

Haha, but it does sound like this poster has some previous grudge. Or had a bad day at work or something.

Heh, the pictures one of the commenters posted in the comments remind me a lot of my current apartment, what with the "old-hotel-converted to apartments" bit. That sort of building can make for some absolutely lovely apartments, and some of THOSE might be saucy enough for the community.

[info]languid_ardor is quite obviously [info]yellowsnakepoet. Look at her userinfo---the same complaining about how her best friend doesn't return her great love and how OMG no one understands. It's quite clear why she's answering the way she is in [info]saucydwellings; she answers the same way to ever post she's ever made in numerous poly and lesbian communities.

She posts again immediately afterwards and gets in a state when someone says they don't like the "after" (with bonus violation of Ebert's Law!)

I suspect I might not have a saucy dwelling, since I thought the "before" was elegant and understated and the "after" was cluttered and hid the room's best features under a bushel...

I don't see how a community like this can work, really. One man's sauce is another man's squalor, and a $5 million apartment in NYC can be shittier than an $86 thousand dollar house in ass fuck.
