Current mood:curious
Current music:"The Theme from Dangeresque II" - Strong Bad

Phase One: Prove women are cunts. Phase Two: ??? Phase Three: PROFIT!!!
So in femalemisogyny, moderator thespookymod posts a link wherin a woman criticizes the cycle of women going back to their abusive spouses. Rough discussion, but nothing unusual really follows.

That is until flamingjune07 states that "just because you don't want to have to feel warm and smushy pity for those poor brave done-wrong etc etc wives (who should've known when to say Fuck Off) doesn't mean that anyone deserves it -- ". thespookymod disagrees and then later seems to go into a tirade against the whole concept of mental illness in general. The thread then turns into a huge wankfest between thespookymod and sammka and somehow manages to encompass overmedicating children, misdiagnosing disorders, and men getting their penises eaten.

This would be wanky enough, but then thespookymod decides that the community sucks now and declares that:all women are vicious, backstabbing cunts and I may be one of you but I'm not really one of you and blah blah blah... Comments are made, but she deletes them.

Apparently not having enough, she then does another "you all suck!" post, saying of most of the members of the community: "Honestly, I think most of you people are just wing-nut feminists trying too hard to be subversive and reading the mental feces you post in a community I seem to have lost control over. You're either sex-positive second-wavers in denial or you're third-wavers who think your wave is actually political and you're trying to hard to be on a mission. Most of you people make me want to scoop out my own brain with a runcible spoon to make the hurting go away."

A few people point out that she isn't exactly proving herself to be the opposite of a vicious back-stabbing cunt.

She basically responds with a So what?

To be honest, I also agree that thespookymod can do whatever she likes with the community, it's just the way she's doing it is incredibly wanky to me.

(From someone who used to be a member of the community. I did wonder if doing this made me a vicious backstabbing cunt. I told myself "yes," and then posted it anyway.)

Edit: Fixed a link.

men getting their penises eaten.

*cringe*

Let the record show I would never, even under duress, eat an actual penis. That's just... ew.

On a mat, with a cat
Will you will you eat them on a train, in the rain?

The only case of penis-eating of which I am aware involved two men, one of whom allowed the other to cut off, cook, and eat his penis, shortly before he allowed him to butcher the rest of him.

I'd post a link but mercifully, I've forgotten the name and URL. It was something Germanic.

You know, I was actually looking for that community a few months back because I thought the name might lead to an interesting concept, but now I'm glad that I couldn't find it :)

I liked this in the community info- If you can't show a basic line of respect to people, you will be asked to leave or you will be kicked out depending on the severity of your disrespect. It matches so well with "women are despicable and worthy of hate" :)

And she's from my state! *fears*

Oh, but NO. Medicating people is wrong, wrong, wrong. :-P Because medication for so-called "mental illnesses" never worked for anyone ever and because you support medicating people you are part of the great psychology conspiracy! [points to her tinfoil hat]

On the other hand, who are we to judge? I mean, yeah, it is a religion that was made up on a dare, but it's not like we don't have F_Wers with beliefs that you could easily make sound just as ridiculous if you summed 'em up like THAT. n.n;;

Actually, it wasn't a religion made up on a dare. It was a religion made up by a guy that wanted to make lots of money, only he ended up beleiving it in the end and caused lots of suffering along the way--not to mention the sheer amount of illegal activity they've been involved in. ANY "religion" that advocates the things Scientology does is horrible.

This site has a lot of data on Scientology and quite a bit on Hubbard himself.

Oops, wanky soapbox... >.> I admit bias on the subject and I also admit that the link I gave is Anti-Scientology but it still doesn't change the value of the data there.

Let me add that now-deceased Hubbard, his higher ups, and the things his "religion" advocate are bad, NOT the majority of the people involved. Being in any religion doesn't make you bad, your own acts do.

Sorry if I caused any misunderstanding.

You know, I try to stay away from discussions about domestic violence, because having lived through it, arm-chair psuedo-libertarianism about how they are too dumb to leave pisses me off as much as a nebulous disorder that masks that for a long time, police did not do the obvious thing and arrest the person beating on the spouse.

*sigh*

Ohhhhkay, I think I have to stop at the "they just want to medicate the Artistes out of existence, if you're a BIG BAD REBEL LIKE ME then they call you 'mentally ill' blah blah blah blah blah, and oh yeah psychology is all about drugs blah blah blah blah watch me quote one line of the post before me because I can't be bothered to read it all blah blah..."

I'm sorry, if you haven't had any actual experience with the mental-health field, kindly step the fuck off. And no, being pissed off about one or two cases that went badly - in your opinion - does not constitute actual experience.

Thank you, byebye.

Yes! Sing it, sister!

Nothing pisses me off more that those holy-roller twats that claim that since mental illness can't be seen, it simply must not exist.

Here's to hoping they develop a raging case of dementia or senility someday. We'll see how real it is to them then.

Ooh!! *glee-clap* My very own anon-flamer! And it called me "biatch!" Hee! XD

Okay, you seem to have missed the entire point of my post. Here it is again. I'll even write it as a list.

- I hate the idea that all art comes from mental illness. I think the whole "touched with fire" bit is bullshit designed to make people feel like they're Special And Unique And Better Than The Mundanes. Anyone is free to disagree, of course.

- Conspiracy? I'll just walk away from that statement slowly. Moving on.

- As for health = conformity, that's another stereotype that I think is BS. If your illness is the only thing that makes you an individual, I'm really very sorry to hear that, although I highly doubt it's true. I'm sorry to hear that so many people think that their problems are the very source of their identity. Mental illness is something that happens to you. It is not who you are.

Again, my opinion, and anyone is free to disagree.

Yes, I'm biased. I've lost too much time in my life already to a piddling mood disorder, and it irritates me when people tell me I should embrace it, because it's "being a square peg." Bullshit; I am not my condition, and if anything I'm being truer to myself by lifting that influence off my true personality. I'm more healthy now, and I conform, if anything, even LESS than I did when I felt like hell all the time.

"Health is conformity" is a kneejerk stereotype people trot out when they're too afraid to change.

Reminds me of some horribly-drawn, horribly-lettered opinion cartoon I saw awhile back that went something like "If the great artists and writers had taken Prozac", and had something about Poe going "Hello, birdy" to a raven.
I guess their point was that due to depression, a couple of people wrote some entertaining stuff, so drugs for treating depression are teh evul. So what if some people kill themselves because of the horrible, crippling sadness they feel? Think of the possible LITERATURE!

Depression STOPPED me from writing. All I could think was "I suck, I shouldn't be writing because all I come up with is trash and nonsense."

But in a roundabout way, writing was what helped me fight depression and anxiety. I had to prove to myself that I can get through it - and I did.

The notion that mental illness is romantic and fosters creativity is ignorant - and fucking offensive. It's like saying that leg amputations and paralysis encourage athletes, because lookit all them wheelchair race guys!

Depression only made it more difficult to write and draw (and eat and speak and work). Artin' kept me alive when I was trying to get proper treatment. Getting meds only made it easier to make stuff.

I think, that there should be a special section of hell reserved for people that do not, and will not, appreciate just how fucking devastating mental illness/mood disorders are.

Other than pure hate-filled bigotry, this is what pisses me off the most. Mental illness/mood disorders are not something that you can switch on and off, nor are they something to glorify. They kill, and they destroy lives.

Sorry for being overly serious. I think I need something to point and laugh at now.
