SON OF CRYSTALWANK.
(Ganked from SqueakerMouse on [info]wank_report.)

Yes, it's another "OMG, IT'S NOT PHOTOSHOP, I'M AN ARTIST!" wank. It's small, but tasty.

Meet MysticStormCloud. MysticStormCloud has a DeviantArt gallery to showcase his OMG amazing portraits because "Sometimes I get a big inspiration and then I must paint something... :D Most of all... I like paint people........., especially a famous actors."

I suspect it's less to do with "inspiration" and more to do with the fact that famous actors have lots of nice pictures that you can run PS filters over. It seems a few DAers would agree.

There are little, bite-sized wanklets in the comments for each deviation; a few cry "filters!" There are one or two calls for tutorials, or for step-by-step photos of the works in progress but the real wank happens in the journal section where MysticStormCloud calls out the doubters. But not to worry, MysticStormCloud has an ardent defender in the form of DjSamer who plays the "UR JUST JELUS" card, at RikuDragon in particular. Because the jealousy card never, ever fails.

For extra WTFery, go to MysticStormCloud's main page, then scroll down to the webcam section and there you'll see some photos that PROVE they're real paintings. They're not pastede on. Nay.

ETA: And I've just noticed that according to Djsamera's signature, Jack Sparrow is the "sexist pirate in the universe." I know it's wrong to mock someone if English isn't their first language but I can't help it. I'm having a Spinal Tap moment:
"What's wrong with being sexy?"
"No, no, sexist, Nigel.
"

ETA #2: Woe! The album has been bahleeted. I saved pictures which my peruse here.

How on earth is it that there are still people out there who have that much naivety, innocence, and trust in the human spirit? Those are some of the most ridiculously obvious filter jobs I've seen.

They're new here, aren't they?

DJSamer has one of the funniest sigs I've seen in a while.

JACK SPARROW -> sexist PIRATE in the universe!

Now, I know she's from Poland so some allowances can be made for grammar and spelling errors, but that's just funny.

This art student is amused by the whole thing. Soldier on, fraud boy.

How come it looks like s/he took a picture of a house and superimposed the pictures on them? I mean, even the wall looks fake.
Also, on the example provided, it says:

Digital Art > Paintings & Airbrushing > People > Portraits

So... unless if s/he printed them out, I don't even see how it's even possible to take a picture of them.

Why people do not notice these things is beyond me.

Next someone will just skip the shoddy photoshopping and claim unedited photos of celebrities as their paintings.

When called on it, they'll explain that they're so good, they can paint what appear to be perfect photographs...and that they were born blind and have struggled on their own for years developing their amazing internal artistic sense, and both their parents just died of a rare kind of cancer that people can't go look up information on because even doctors have never heard of it, and painting is the only thing keeping them going. Then they'll then talk about how much they miss being able to see, and refuse to show anyone a painting in progress because it's a special kind of paint that would be immediately destroyed by a camera flash or a scanner. Any nasty, disrespectful questions about how they know in photographic detail what the celebrities look like, how they get the images online, or why their story keeps changing won't be dignified with responses. And when someone points out the actual source of the celebrity photos, they'll be shocked, absolutely shocked, that such a well-known reputable news website would have stolen from a poor little artist.

And if all past experience is any indication, people will believe them, tirelessly defend them, and demand to know how anyone can be so terribly heartless to the poor amazing blind orphan artist.

Then they'll top it off with a dramatic death and have some relatives with strangely similar typing patterns begging for people to buy prints of the paintings in order to pay for the funeral.

The only thing that would heal the pain of all my headdesking would be the thought that that poor amazing dead blind orphan artist and their giant sockpuppet family might show up to defend themselves when they get wanked.
