Over at [info]bad_service, [info]iheartretards makes a post complaining that a Macy's sales rep wasn't helpful. [info]dewprisms weighs in:

If you're over 18, why are you looking in the Junior's section anyway?

Juniors is for tweens through highschool. It's just women (yes, women) wear it into their 20's because they have no sense of what is appropriate for their age.

[info]iheartretards: and see also furry: everything you say is irrelevent.

[info]slysoprano: Yeah, and anthropomorphizing and sexualizing poor, defenseless animals is a very adult thing to do.

[info]iheartretards: And if you're over the age of 7 why are you sleeping on pocahontas sheets?

Small, but entertaining. Also, no furbashing, please.

I love how dewprism's opinion about Juniors and Misses clothing translates to something that should be taken as gospel by all. To me, it almost says, "This is what I think, therefore it is right because I say so!"

The cluelessness of some people. *shakes head*

Huh. I didn't know I wasn't allowed to shop in the junior's section even though they have sizes that, y'know, fit me.

Also, to get all ad-hominemy, dewprisms doesn't look like she's got much business in the junior's section herself.

So we can't have Livejournals, we're not allowed to read yuri, and now we can't shop in the juniors' section, either?

If this be a life without El Jay, skimpy clothes, and hot girl-on-girl action, 'tis a life not worth living. Or something. Woe.

Man, remember way back when, when the teenagers weren't in charge and we could do whatever we wanted? That was nice, then.

Or, you know, they could just be too small to wear misses. I have a long-time friend who is 27 years old and probably a hundred pounds soaking wet, and even size-zero juniors stuff is sometimes too big for her. Same for my sister, who's 23 and is always complaining about how the only clothes she ever finds that fit her are juniors' size zero and one.

Go go Generalization-chan! Move wank for great justice!

God, if I could wear Juniors and make up for the fact that I spent my teens as big as a goddamned house, wearing prom dresses from the JCPenney mail-order plus-sized bridesmaid collection, I would. I'd wear low-riders and go-go boots and let the whole wide world see my lack-of muffin top. Hell yes.

Of course, I wouldn't be a good role-model. For anyone.

If you're over 18, why are you looking in the Junior's section anyway?

...Because I'm so small that nothing in the women's section fits me.

Actually, most of the time everything in Juniors/Misses is too big too. I go to the little girls' section. Serious. My work pants were bought in the girls' department, size 10, because Juniors didn't have any black pants in size 0 or 1. And do you have any idea how hard it is to find underwear which fits me that doesn't have Bratz or Strawberry Shortcake on it or something on it? Sheesh, I wish they at least made panties with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles or Spiderman on them.

I wish I could say I shop in the Juniors department because I'm sooooooo tiny, nothing else will fit! Really, it's just because from my crotch to my collar bones I'm sooooooo short that Misses jeans, with their generally higher rises, always look like they're pulled up to my armpits. If I were actually short, I could shop in Petites, but at 5'4" I'm about two inches too tall for that.

I hate buying jeans.

I always thought the difference between Misses and Juniors was mostly in the cut of the sizes. The Juniors, odd numbers, are usually cut for narrower, short waisted women (yes, usually shaped like teenagers) and Misses was longer cut, fuller in the hips and bust.

If anything, those clothes are for people in their 20s because most of those clothes are so whored out that girls under 18 shouldnt be wearing it anyway. You're in high school. Not working at a strip club. Save it for when you ARE 18 and can go out to a club.

Now there's a point. All the juniors departments I know of have some pretty skanklicious crap that I'd be appalled to see my 15-year-old sister wearing.

And since it's sharing time, apparently, I'm 24 and I have some really cute tops from juniors that I doubt anyone would know weren't from the "right" department. A cute shirt is a cute shirt is a cute shirt.
