So in the LJ feed Overheard in New York, someone posts a quote of a parent and child having a discussion about visiting concentration camps while in Europe.

Some highlights:

grrlishgrin says: Wow, really fucking funny, asshole! NOT. (I paraphrase slightly.)

xktx posts a pic of a sign on an American tank in Iraq and brings the St. Patrick's Day Parade ban on gays into it. (All righty then!)

ihopdisciple wishes death on those who do not find this funny. (And has a rather NSFW icon as well.)

autoplastic thinks everyone on this thread should visit a concentration camp, and then they wouldn't laugh at this.

lafinjack thinks 23-year-olds don't know jack shit about witnessing horrors. (Okay!) And posts an animated .gif of Hitler telling a knock-knock joke, which of course people follow up on with other such pictures.

Jokes about Hitler and peoples' moms get taken the wrong way.
