Piracy promotes terrorism, savvy?
Today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day, and to celebrate, LiveJournal has made some minor tweaks to the site scheme, including but not limited to referring to the friends list as "mateys" and changing the update journal button to say "update captain's log". Many people seem to find this hilarious. Some people ... well, don't.

Over at [info]suggestions, [info]fionacat proposes an option to allow users to opt out of TLaP Day hijinks, citing violence, "pointless archaic speak", and oh yeah, terrorism as the cause:

"[...]some of us prefer not to be associated with AK-47 weilding thugs that murder and kidnap people nor those that intentionally defraud others by selling illegal music/software/videos."

This doesn't go over very* well.
