Okay, this is my first post so be gentle. :)

Over at Stuff on My Cat Mario posts a picture of Bjorn the Cat biting at a cookie cutter shaped as Texas with the joke, "It's okay, Bjorn, I don't like them either"

As a longtime resident of the Lone Star State (albeit not a native; however, as Lyle Lovett says, "that's right, you're not from Texas, but Texas wants you anyway"), I have to admit that I do sometimes get a bit bent out of shape over some of the anti-Texas fappery that some people engage in, especially when it's of the "because GWB is a wanker, send the whole state back to Mexico" variety. I mean, really. At least leave Austin alone; we're sane here.

But that thread just gets ridiculous. Fast.

People hate Texas because of GWB? How strange. I'm a New Mexican (Coloradoan by birth) and we hate Texas for much, much better and abiding reasons. Such as a) visiting our states and b) stealing our land. Seriously. Everyone ten or so years one of our Reps or Senators puts a bill forth to re-appropriate the land that Texas stole from us when they became a state and first drew their borders. You can actually see it on maps. There's a tiny, tiny panhandle on the Eastern side of the state, where otherwise the border would be several hundred miles of a completely straight line.
