Spotlighted Wank
Has anyone else noticed how quickly the "LJ Spotlighted Communities" become hotbeds of wank?

Let's see... Over in autumn_and_fall, asweettragedy decides to post up a pretty picture of some pumpkins, along with some glurge about how God made us all like jack-o-lanterns or something. I'm not entirely certain I understand it, but shatterstripes sums it up as :

So being a Christian is like being an empty shell with a forced grin and no potential to grow anything new, who's left out to rot over the weeks after it's useful, and then thrown in the compost (if you're lucky; the trash is more likely) with cries of 'eeew'?

Meanwhile, over on the other side of OMG serious business... We've got historyisfun, this week's featured wankmagnet community, where pirated_pie wants to know if we think our interest in history is because of our past lives. (Can I claim to have been Joan of Arc in a former life?)

feste_sylvan thinks this is dumb. This annoys pirated_pie to the point where s/h/it loses the ability to use the "s" key and informes feste_sylvan he's an "a**hole".
