So Tatsuya, creator of the webcomic Sinfest, often pokes fun at religion in general. Recently he made a rather controversial comic (yes, I know it involves a transformer. Stop laughing at me).

The wank on the forum begins when death_to_dib describes a conversation with a friend whose boyfriend is off on a mission.

I've never heard of a mission group going somewhere and not bringing some sort of material good into the place, but taking that aside: When you go to a third world country where people are dying of hunger and sickness, a person can feed an idividual. [...] But when all that fails, your female friend and her boyfriend are correct: the gospel is the most important thing you can give someone. They are not in hell, not even close. Their suffering will inrcease beyond imagination if they do not choose to cast their cares upon Christ. That of course is not the reason for salvation, the gospel isn't about where you go when you die but rather what you do while you're alive, but still. Dont knock what you don't understand, and you can't truly understand the christian faith unless you have it. I know I didn't.

And the wank goes on and on about religion for about 50 pages, while many wonder as to why a 'fundie' is on the forums of Sinfest. Evolution is argued against, macros are used, people use bad arguements on both sides, and it all ends in puppies.

......the only thing that actually jumped out at me from that paragraph is where the person says refers to "your female friend". Bzuh?

Evolution is argued against

Ah. Memeories of the ID v. Evolution debate on Bleach Forums is coming back to me. Some guy really did believe the Bible supported the existence of Dinosaurs and humans at the same time and that there was a conspiracy in the scientific community to cover it up. Way to old to bring up now though.

It was a lot more civil than this, with only a few trolls telling other people to fuck off.

Perhaps you ought to spend some time in the ENTIRETY of the only set of documents that describe this guy, the Bible. Stop using that book as a religious buffet, picking and choosing the stuff you like from it.

Hell no. Buffet is the greatest of all God's creations, I will use it in every aspect of my life.

I've always loved that Genesis starts with two different creation stories. God's totally giving us a meat option and a fish option.

I'm not quite sure what that says about me.

Same here, and it's sad at the same time. Honestly, I think a lot of the average conservatives really do love the Lord with all their heart and honestly believe they're doing the right thing by people. They're just so blinded and brainwashed by propoganda they don't realize how much damage they're actually doing, and if they did, I think it would break their hearts. Most conservative christians aren't ill-meaning or willfully narrow-minded or cruel, they're just as misguided as they think the rest of us are, which makes it all the more tragic that for the average person, the harm they do IS out of love.

Evolution is a theory (not fact: cannot be proven), which I admit is widespread and quite logical. IF YOU IGNORE THE WORDS OF THE ALMIGHTY GOD!
...
I sometimes too generally state my point. I do not accept that speciation has occurred. I cannot argue with natural selection, diversefication, gene drift, etc. I hereby forego any future attempts to explain why other than that it is in direct violation with my beliefs. You have been warned.

WAAAY OT but there's something called a medical mission that has all the evangelism but also lots of free medical care sponsored by Christian colleges, usually. There's other things like that, too. Just a little trivia.
