Men = the ebil... nothing new, of course
[info]anti_feminism is not one of the most wank-free places on LJ.

Appearantly, men are not classified as pre-predators by some companies and kept away from children.

So there is wank. (icons in the threads may be NSFW)

Some quotes:

"I would wish half-parenting on more children, not less."

"In fact, a majority of men are pieces of predatorial shit. People are pieces of shit, but woman are socialized to be less effective, and thus less predatorial."

You're just as bad as the freaks at feminist.

And before anyone is confused, [info]two_stabs is a pre-predator man.

You're a piece of shit if you think being half-parented makes children somehow worse for the while. In fact it helps children avoid the discomfort of shucking off anachronistic and outmoded ideals and religious beliefs later on in their life.

People wind up with daddy complexes, distorted beliefs about virginity and religion, conflict between what family is 'supposed' to mean to satisfy the stability our society demands from us and the reality of it, that parents and family are just people we've been assigned to live with.

I would wish half-parenting on more children, not less.

Woah! I'm not one to analyze people on the internet, but those are some serious family issues rearing their ugly little heads.

I can't think. Especially since most flyers adhere to the grand tradition of ignoring your neighbour to the nth power when it comes to a sitting kid beside them.

Having, as a kid, flown seated beside a sucession of unfortunate young men, I'd say they're liable come off the worst in such encounters. Even if they sit very very still and pretend to be dead. I was a terribly fidgety child. I'm really sorry for anyone who ever had to sit by me.

As a feminist, I get mad for men as often as I do for women. This sort of thing is just awful. The mere idea of a grown man being friendly to a child is now viewed as some precursor to a sexual offense. Makes me sad, really. When I was a little girl, I loved talking to the young men that lived in the flat next door to my house. It was totally innocent.

On another account, I never stop feeling like a weirdo for having parents that, not only have been together for over forty years now, but are still as in love with each other as they were when they first met, are their first loves, and have spawned a family of children who get along with each other remarkably well. We are SUCH freaks.

*stares in sheer horror* You know, my dad's an asshole, but I guess I found out late enough in life how much of an asshole so that I don't make sweeping generalizations that tar all men with the same brush. If I did, boy would I be uncomfortable, since I can count the number of female friends I've got on one hand, and I live in a house that's usually occupied by three or four guys.

In conclusion, what the fuck is wrong with people?

My daddy issue is that I never had to deal with being given a role model who's supposed to be infallible and then, as I grew older, discovered weakness and fallibility in him. I was raised by my mother, who largely left me alone, and the media and hobbies I chose to surround myself with. I couldn't have been better off for it.

Mothers and fathers are both expendable. Being raised on the bare minimum of imposed ideology: priceless.

The wank just kind of makes itself in that community, doesn't it?

And the daddy issues on that thread. Oy. I like the one who said that growing up without a father was a good thing because then she didn't have unrealistic expectations of him or whatever. Well, I grew up with a dad. And I've kind of always known he wasn't perfect. Same for my mom. Because suprisingly, no human being is perfect. You don't have to be that old to figure it out.

Excuse me for a moment but this really managed to tick me off:
I would wish half-parenting on more children, not less

I wouldn't. As someone who grew up with out a father and was later essentially abandand by my mother, I can say that my brothers and I have grown up with more parental issues than the friends who at least saw their father/mother more than once a year. If one of your parent's isn't around, especially if you have memories of them being there when you were younger, then you begin to blame yourself for them not being there. You start to think that if you had been a better child, then daddy or mommy wouldn't have left you. Once you get past the stage of blaming yourself, then you begin to resent your parents. I told people my parents were dead for a year after my mother left me with my grandparents and one of my little brothers doesn't even call our mother "Mom" any more.

So basically I'm saying, fuck you two stabs.

Half-parenting advocate: Plenty of people grow up just fine without a father.
Full-parenting advocate: Plenty of people grow up just fine without a left leg, either. That doesn't diminish the value of having both legs, does it?"

Full-parenter: If the objective is to remove the "threat" of men to children (what a wonderfully sickening thought that is) then they should first be removed from the threat of their male relatives, since they are much more likely to abuse them than a stranger on an airplane.
Half-parenter: You're much more likely to die in a car accident than being struck by lightning. Does that mean you should go outside and climb trees in a lightning storm?

Is it a competition who can come up with the stupidest analogy?
