"Do you ever wish your name was Bridget or something?lol"
This wank is a few days old, but it's still growing.

In the linguaphiles community on LJ, [info]ein_suender, who is apparently a little lacking in the social graces department, posts about an IM conversation he recently had with an African American friend of his named DishhawntÊe. He comments that her name is "kinda . . . weird," and posts a transcript of their conversation:

Her: It's just one of those black girl names I guess.
Me: When you were little did it take you forever to learn to spell it?

Her: not really
Me: Do you ever wish your name was Bridget or something? lol

Her: lol
Me: How did your mother come up with it?

Her: i dont know
Her: i like my name

The OP goes on to muse about how this particular naming trend got started, and asks if parents are more inclined to give such unusual names to girls than to boys.

The first few responses are fairly neutral in tone (although a few are pretty cringe-worthy in content), and then [info]militantgoat brings the wank to the party:

are you assuming all the people in this community are white or do you think it is acceptable to be really offensive about people in their presence? I can't believe the original post and the use of 'typical black girl name' and that the only comments people have managed to make relate to spellings!

And much fapping is had by all.
