queer_recruit: The wank that found *me*!
Appologies if this has already been posted...

I just got friended by queer_recruit, which I thought was a troll mocking the "cure the gay" Christian types, until I saw how sincere she was. From her userinfo:

I've created this journal to recruit heterosexuals to fall in love with their same-sex friends. Obviously I'm incapable of recruiting you unless you agree to be recruited, but if you do find the idea worth considering, I'm here to answer any questions I can and ask you questions you might not otherwise have considered. For example:
If you've been in love with members of the opposite sex, were you able to achieve as much communication and understanding with them as you've achieved with your closest same-sex friends?

If the mere physical body someone was born with is enough to prevent you from falling in love with them no matter how much better communication and understanding and completely perfectly well-matched minds you have with them than with anyone else in the world, doesn't that make the whole meaning of "falling in love" awfully shallowly physical and emotionally meaningless?
These are some of the questions that led me to convert from heterosexuality to bisexuality 11 years ago.

If you have any objection to being on my friends list, feel free to ask to be removed from it and I will remove you right away. You weren't picked for any particular reason, except that you seemed intelligent and I thought your journal would be interesting to read (and you're welcome to read mine whether or not you sign up to be recruited!).

Lots of wank from both sides in the comments. Highlights:
