Hi-ho!
Smallish update on the wank that keeps on neighing -- er, giving:

Ohnoes! LJ Abuse has demanded we delete [info]callmesilver's post about our intolerance!

Comm members hurry to make screencaps, debate copyright, and generally dogpile on [info]callmesilver. Good times.

When adult animals have the right to vote, they have the right to consent. They are not intellectually capable of consenting to sex in a legal manner, and a human being should not have sex with another living being that cannot consent. Boom.

Also: ARGH why am I perpetuating serious business in OTF?

Why do you say they are not intellectually capable of consenting? Animals consent/object to things all the time. That's why I was asking about this. Just because they can't talk doesn't mean they don't know what they want or don't want and are unable to express their wishes.

There are so many wanky parallels that could be drawn to your argument, I'm just not even going to start, because I don't think anyone in this comm has given informed consent to that kind of bukkake.

NOr should they. But then, I've yet to meet an animal that gave "informed consent" to getting his balls cut off, but humans do that to them constantly.

Yeah, okay, this is just getting stupid. Have fun at your anthropomorphizing party.

I'll just be over here in Reality, enjoying the cat macros.

In a LEGAL manner. LEGAL consent requires a HUMAN intelligence, because human intelligence is the only intelligence we, as humans, can measure accurately.

It's not because they can't talk, they can't understand it, and never will. Since they can't understand it, they can never give a form of consent valid to humans. Valid to animals, sure, but not humans.
