Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry

Over at the libertarianism community on ElJay, [info]lefthandedninja asks, "Do you think possessing child pornography should be a crime?"  in reaction to this article.  (Apparently, instead of turning in his final exam, some dumbass turned in a CD full of child porn.)

Fantastic.

[info]kadeshaderow gets things started off the right way by asking, "Are you fucking retarded?" and then continues to splooge all over the place.  (Now with bolding and underlining action!)

The wank then moves on to whether or not the age of consent is arbitrary, and whether that even pertains to the subject at hand since the CD turned in contained pictures of very young children.

[info]vox_soli feels the need to tl;dr to the max about how she is an anarchist and actually SAYS, "I more or less think that it's okay as long as the child in question has a sufficiently mature understanding of the whole idea of sexuality to consent and there isn't any question of coercion or undue influence from an authority figure."   She, [info]cyclotron, and [info]ragnarok20 go on to have a nice healthy debate over whether or not you can define a law if you don't actually believe in laws.

But!  [info]ragnarok20 simply cannot take this lying down!  Instead of replying on the first post, he has to make a whole new post about how big of an idiot [info]kadeshaderow is.

Thankfully, this post looks semi splooge-free at the moment, but the second the usual suspects show up, it'll explode, mark my words.

No, not really. Not that I'm averse to it - I just concentrate on The Mummy Returns and there's not much scope for that in there (unless I want to do Brokeback Mountain set in Egypt LOL). My main work is the Hello From Sunny Hamunaptra series, which I've endeavoured to have as a continuation of the movies. I've been working on the series for *years* (seven now that I think about it) and I've got a website up for it at my dot.com. I never get much of a response for it at Weaver of Dreams, I just tend to wait in hope that someone will read it on fanfiction.net (and a few have, I have about 135 reviews, which is good for such a tiny fandom).

I'm currently working on a later story in the series. I got stuck on the sequel. It's really hard constructing the Medjai culture.

I'll certainly check out that board. :)

Well, there's Johnathan(sp?)/Ardeth slash out there. :-)

<---Can find the slash anywhere, anywhen.

I know but it doesn't really interest me all that much. Don't ask me why - I have no idea.

Because Johnathan doesn't have Teh Pretty and is kind of a whiny little bitch? That's why I mostly don't go for it. Though Domineering!Ardeth can be fun. "Stupid scrawny cowardly Englishman without the sense Allah gave a pig... *eyeroll* Bend over."

No. Because I'm not into slash. At all. I don't know why - I'm bi, and if two straight men snog for my benefit I get all in a tizz. And I exclusively watch either gay or lesbian porn. But stories involving that sort of thing - nup. I'm really *really* into het romance. I *adore* Jonathan, and he has a really big part to play in the huge novel series that I'm writing. I'm finding it hard to get an audience for it these days though, cause only the hard-core TM fans remain and they want either:

- gay action (like you described)
- exotic arabian love novels

And mine stories are quaint adventure stories with a thorough melange of what the movies had and historical storytelling (involving old Egyptian myths in new monster tales). So yeah.

Hang on, are you 'the stories of Eve' with all the references to 'She' and stuff? 'Cause I positively adore those stories - reread them on dark and stormy nights (or, when I have a cold.)
