[info]vahnm posts an article to [info]yaoi about how researchers think they may have found the clue to homosexuality (the article has since been disproved by by a blogger as incredibly biased and the work of none other than PETA). It goes over pretty well, though, [info]yaoi is largely supportive of gay rights, even if it's off topic.

Well, except for [info]ashleyvsdestiny, that is (yes, that Ashley). People try to bring the logic, but s/h/it is persistant with the crazy.

On a side note, it's funny, no one would complain of someone was looking at a cure for heterosexuality.

As for research... No, not really. I mean there are millions of dollars being spent on everythin from how to make the better tasting donut and all the way to making the longer lasting breast implant. In terms of frivolousness, you'll find a lot worse than trying to cure homosexuality at the bottom of the scientific research barrel.

And my point that gay rights doesn't matter in yaoi still stands. There's a good reason we'll never see a yaoi manga where the characters are marching in a gay rights parade. And if I ever do see that, I'll set that manga on fire.

No, it's not considdered immoral to research a method to make black people white.

Small, I know, but we can't have Sep's only example of the funny in OTF_wank not be in OTF_wank at all.

You can also find some fine examples of crazy on [info]ashleyvsdestiny's journal, if you enjoy s/h/it's particular brand of insanity (and he's still making with the trans hate).

He does it for the little people. Where's your icon from? It intrigues me.

The awesome comic book series Nextwave, by Warren Ellis, of "Transmetropolitan" and "The Authourity" fame. Here, have some samples. And, for what it's worth, context.

He fights for all of us! How noble.

It's from Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. (as stated above by [info]mcity) and it is made of joy and awesome and explosions, which are all kind of the same thing, I guess. Five D-list superheroes in the Marvel universe go rogue when they discover the agency they're working for is funded by terrorists! Explosions and face-kickings promptly ensue.

Also a robot in a giant bra.

Dammit! I was all set to go and check this out, because it seems to be filled with awesome and I've been jonesing to read a superhero comic again (it's been years),but then you said that word. That 'M' word... :(

Who're the heroes by the way? I don't recognise them.

Well, considering Nextwave is a satire of the conventions in superhero comics these days... *g*

Um! The heroes are Monica "Captain Marvel / Photon" Rambeau (the black woman), Aaron "Mister Machine / Machine Man" Stack (the one in the bra), Elsa Bloodstone, Tabith Smith, and The Captain.

It's just...seeing the M on the cover you know.As recovering Marvel zombie, it's very triggering. ;)

"The heroes are Monica "Captain Marvel..."

I'm there! But it's a sad sad thing that she's now been regulated to D-list superhero.Goddamn you Marvel!
