TQC gender-wank!
*stolen from a mousie on [info]wank_report*

So, [info]katyowns asks [info]thequestionclub if it's ok to let her son wear a skirt to school. Most of the answers are *gasp!* reasonable, but there are always a few wankers in the bunch.

[info]redlightlove starts off the party by proclaiming boys only wear skirts if they're fairies. People of course call him on this, and he backpedals with the classic "I was doing it for the LULZ." [info]redlightlove then makes it to [info]stupid_free (which stays amazingly free of wank).

Next up, we have [info]renewedme, proclaiming that the kid needs to go to therapy to find the "root" of his problem. Anyone else having "But I'm a Cheerleader" flashbacks? Continuing on this theme, she states that dressing as the opposite sex could come from "underlying problems" and that she sees "nothing wrong with our society's attitudes toward gender at all." There is another round of "Bitch, plz" from those assembled. There's also a discussion on whether ten year-olds understand sexuality and gender identity, culminating in accusations of repression.

Finally, [info]supernovacaine gets in on the action, wondering why transsexuals can't just wear goddamn pants like all the other women in the world.

Personally, I'm just in favor of clothing that keeps the naughty bits covered. At least on most people. Jeri Ryan is allowed to wear as little clothing as she likes.

As long as he doesn't want to wear jean skirts with leggings underneath, he's cool and I'd fight the school. No son of mine is dressing in tacky fad shit, though.

I love it

Oh, I'll fight you for that one. Beautiful comment and what the hell's your icon from?

::insert other appropriate icon here::

It's Megan Hilty and David Ayers not-quite-highfiving. The video was taken from the curtain call to David, Shoshana Bean, Megan Sikora (or however she actually spells her last name) and Rue McClanahan's last show when they were in Wicked on Broadway. There's a copy of the entire performance on Google video, and at the end Megan is making little goodbye speeches about everyone. When she gets to David, he holds up his hand for a high five and she says "Ye-ah!" in an absolutely adorable voice. I thought it was super cute (plus I had just downloaded GIMP and this really sexy video encoder thing), so I iconed it.

This icon, however, is from Stacie Morgain Lewis' last Catfight (from the Chicago sitdown production). You should see the amount of Wicked icons I have on my lj *L* It's just a slight problem

[Oh, and in case you aren't familiar with Wicked, that's (sort of) Glinda and the Scarecrow from the Wizard of OZ]

I just love that you have one of Eden. <3 Eden.

She and Megan just looked so cute in the 1000th performance pictures. I'll be super excited once the LA show starts up, if only because there may be more videos of them on youtube ♥ If you want to get a full view of my sickness icons, the ones I don't have room for on here are on my lj. I realize that looking at it now, I seem to have a bit of a Galinda thing. Umm.

[In the interests of spreading the Eden love, could I interest you in an mp3 of her? I've got The Wizard and I, I'm Not That Girl, As Long As You're Mine with Norbert and For Good and Defying Gravity (which is probably the worst quality of the lot) with Kate.]

I am so much with the wishing I could go to LA and see them. That and I want to go to NY and see Ryan Duncan's (from Altar Boyz) new play too, but sadly... no go. New job and no vacation. Woe. I'm going to have to just rely on friends for reports from both.

Oooh, mp3s! Yes please! And in return, I have, well.. pictures, I reckon? Oh, and I figured out how to rip videos off of YouTube and convert them to mp3, so I have an mp3 of Eden singing "On My Own" from Seth's Chatterbox if you'd want that?

And eight years later...and as I am very embarrassed to have taken so long, so I shall attempt to distract you by uploading all the Eden I have, as well as point you to this link, where I have a few other non-Eden things ^^;

I'm also worried that a lot of these are repeats of stuff that you already have, as I ended up doing the whole YouTube to mp3 thing as well, although some of them might be off of Google Video and Myspace.

Eden - The Wizard and I

Eden - Defying Gravity

Eden - For Good and As Long As You're Mine

Eden - I'm Not That Girl and No Good Deed

Sure :) I think the only ones I'd rather not share are my Megan Hilty *flounce* and *squee* ones, and the Kendra and I-forget-who-the-Fiyero-is This could be love one that I've got on my lj. Could you please credit my lj (safillevendredi) and tell me which you're taking (mostly because people rarely ask to use my icons and I'm curious *L*).

Also, here's a .gif of her whole wand routine (and a link to the video I got it from), which was just nuts, it was so good. You can filch the Bring it icon, but if you want to hold off a little bit, I was going to make the text frame last a little longer (I think it's too short) and I should have that done by 7pm EST. I'll upload that version to my LJ before I do it here, so you'll have your pick :)

I wear skirts with leggings in the winter because I get cold easily(but like skirts and leggings are warmer than jeans sometimes). D: I fully acknowledge that I am a dork though.

Well, to be fair I thought that was just a really funny quote, not my personal fashion outlook (such that it is. Umm.).

I also hate skirts with pants more than a lot of people do, because I went to a university where my class (2006) was the first one that was less than half Jewish, and even if they weren't all orthodox, a lot of them were more than just the Jewish equivalent of an Easter and Christmas Catholic and did the whole "dressing in gender roles" thing that gets brought up in the wank. As such, I saw far more girls in running sneakers, skirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts with the completely crap looking somewhat-not-pulled-through ponytail than anyone should ever see in their entire lifetime. I kept wanting to scream at them, "Listen, I'm sure that God would appreciate you looking presentable in pants than looking like a hot mess in a skirt. Seriously."

[If I were thinner, I'd probably try and get away with short skirts and leggings too]

I don't wear pants pants. I wear tight leggings. They just look like really heavy stockings to me(and are also wonderful for when lying around the house and working out). x)

I must look hot in them and my customized skirts since I get hit on more often when wearing my skirts and leggings than my normal pants. Go figure.

And it was a funny quote. I'm just a wuss when it comes to the cold.

Only some, usually very skinny, can pull off the dress-over-jeans look. I knew one girl who could make it look fabulous in a punky way, but that was really kind of it.
