TQC gender-wank!
*stolen from a mousie on [info]wank_report*

So, [info]katyowns asks [info]thequestionclub if it's ok to let her son wear a skirt to school. Most of the answers are *gasp!* reasonable, but there are always a few wankers in the bunch.

[info]redlightlove starts off the party by proclaiming boys only wear skirts if they're fairies. People of course call him on this, and he backpedals with the classic "I was doing it for the LULZ." [info]redlightlove then makes it to [info]stupid_free (which stays amazingly free of wank).

Next up, we have [info]renewedme, proclaiming that the kid needs to go to therapy to find the "root" of his problem. Anyone else having "But I'm a Cheerleader" flashbacks? Continuing on this theme, she states that dressing as the opposite sex could come from "underlying problems" and that she sees "nothing wrong with our society's attitudes toward gender at all." There is another round of "Bitch, plz" from those assembled. There's also a discussion on whether ten year-olds understand sexuality and gender identity, culminating in accusations of repression.

Finally, [info]supernovacaine gets in on the action, wondering why transsexuals can't just wear goddamn pants like all the other women in the world.

Personally, I'm just in favor of clothing that keeps the naughty bits covered. At least on most people. Jeri Ryan is allowed to wear as little clothing as she likes.

Well, to be fair I thought that was just a really funny quote, not my personal fashion outlook (such that it is. Umm.).

I also hate skirts with pants more than a lot of people do, because I went to a university where my class (2006) was the first one that was less than half Jewish, and even if they weren't all orthodox, a lot of them were more than just the Jewish equivalent of an Easter and Christmas Catholic and did the whole "dressing in gender roles" thing that gets brought up in the wank. As such, I saw far more girls in running sneakers, skirts, sweatpants, and sweatshirts with the completely crap looking somewhat-not-pulled-through ponytail than anyone should ever see in their entire lifetime. I kept wanting to scream at them, "Listen, I'm sure that God would appreciate you looking presentable in pants than looking like a hot mess in a skirt. Seriously."

[If I were thinner, I'd probably try and get away with short skirts and leggings too]

I don't wear pants pants. I wear tight leggings. They just look like really heavy stockings to me(and are also wonderful for when lying around the house and working out). x)

I must look hot in them and my customized skirts since I get hit on more often when wearing my skirts and leggings than my normal pants. Go figure.

And it was a funny quote. I'm just a wuss when it comes to the cold.

Only some, usually very skinny, can pull off the dress-over-jeans look. I knew one girl who could make it look fabulous in a punky way, but that was really kind of it.
