I wish I could see some more logical arguments from the anti-gun crowd other than the usual touting of statistics since it doesn't seem like they've ever been on the other side of the fence and been in a situation where a gun's use made a difference since banning guns doesn't affect the criminals having them. And if I remember rightly, after the UK passed thier gun ban, the number of knife violence skyrocketed and then the knife ban went up. Anyone over there please correct me if I'm wrong. Maybe because on my Dad's side of the family, they do hunt, I'm okay with ownership of on some firearms. I don't see the reason to be owning assault rifles and such for just home protection or hunting. True story: At the Wal-Mart a few blocks away, the clerk at the deli was attacked by her crazy ex who tore over the counter and began stabbing her repeately. A customer who was in the area shot the guy (New Mexico's an open carry state). Since this was at least a year or two ago, my memory's a bit fuzzy as to whether the guy lived or not-don't think he did, but she was in critical condition and had not someone done something, very likely would've been killed. In a case like that, I do think it's a good idea to be armed, though others would likely disagree with me. Sorry if I rambled, it's way past bedtime for me. Post a comment in response: |
