	I can truly say your comment made me laugh. Some of them seem to think guns are evil and if we get rid of them then we'll have the same results as other countries. I'm not pro-gun but I'm also not naive enough to think that people don't have other ways to kill each other. (Reply to this)(Parent)

Because it wasn't an anti-gun argument. I was mocking the unintended suggestion that a gun by itself is capable of murder.

I thought that was obvious but if it wasn't, sorry.

I doubt Columbine could have happened with a knife.

No...but it's not like people can't kill or be killed in large numbers without guns. Ever heard of Jonestown?

	Actually, some of those people were probably shot when they refused suicide... but just the same, people have been killing each other in large numbers before the gun came along. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Yeah, people can be unbelievably (and morbidly) creative when it comes to making effective mass killing machines. People always bring up the gun vs. knife argument, but it's not like those are the only two weapons ever in existence (or ever WILL be in existence). Get rid of guns, someone out there will invent some other way to kill people just as effectively.

...It could even be me. *insane laughter*

	No, but it could have happened with a number of methods that didn't involve either guns or knives. Explosives, poison, arson... people who want to kill a large number of people at once can be very creative. (Reply to this)(Parent)
