Charity Gate ver 2.0: Youtube Style?
C&P'd from wank_report, and here since I found myself debating if youtube was a fandom or not. Many thanks to the mouse for posting it.

Relatively well known youtuber kimberleigh recently posted a video lamenting the death of her computer and therefore her inability to post anymore videos.

Other youtube members, including some high profile users set up a "charity event" to raise money to buy kimberleigh a new computer called Bobs4Kim in which members of the youtube community pay $3 to join a chat with "youtube celebrities" of varying notoriety, including Blunty3000 a high profile vid blogger.

This garnered a fair amount criticism and wank from many youtubers with people accusing the high profile members of using their status for profiteering and scamming money from other users so they can buy stuff for their friends. Among the criticizers is another 'youtube celebrity' rickyste aka 'Lazydork' who posted the video "Don't go to Bobs4Kim!": http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WiN-17zadpA

There is a lot of splooge and dog piling on rickyste in the video comments but the wank really starts when Blunty3000 posts:

Tell the whole story fucker... those DONATED dollars are going to help a fellow youtuber in need. and you're so hopelessly out of touch with this COMMUNITY it's laughable. Nice try at being a troll and desperately trying to rekindle your expired 15 minutes of fame. Fail.

To which rickyste replies: Wow dude, relax your face.

Blunty3000: relax while you attack a group of people, most of them my friends, who are just trying to do something nice for someone else. By being a cynical and pathetic little cry baby whining about "why aren't I as popular as Boh3m3.." etc? no, I don't think so. Grow up, get a clue, and go back to your "professional" card games.

rdwo: I don't know why you are ripping into Lazydork so hard. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. True, he did not tell the whole story but I really doubt he knows all of it. Why don't you explain why Kimberleigh is in need of this donation.

BgirL5: I'm not one to hate on videos, so I'll try to keep this short and sweet. But I think you should just let people do what they want. We all love Kim and we're doing this for her because she deserves it. If you don't want to help, then don't pay the money and don't come. No one is forcing you. Anyway, have a nice day.

rickyste: That was a calm and well reasoned counterpoint. I'm glad your brain isn't exploding like blunty3000's, who, by the way, is apparently completely insane.

Blunty3000: Right, I'm offended and angry that you'd attack a group of folk trying to show some generosity - AND calling anyone who would support those people "idiots" and suddenly I'm "completely insane". I know which one of us I'd rather be.

rickyste: a while back I watched some of your videos; you seemed like a happy go lucky guy. wtf happened to you... learn to control yourself. you're presenting a very ugly picture of yourself. It's a little sad.

Blunty3000: I hardly think sticking up for what I believe in when some douche attacks folk trying to do a nice thing for someone else a "very ugly picture", nor "sad". But I bet you're just overjoyed that you've managed to goad me into a reaction. like any troll.

rickyste: Your reaction just makes me kind of sad for you. That's all.

Blunty3000 then posted a pretty vitriolic video calling rickyste “An attention starved little bitch." He pulled the video within an hour of uploading it, saying in a follow-up video that he doesn’t want to create more drama and give in to the “haters”.
