Just be glad I didn't go with the wanking [info]lesbians.
Can you guess what community is wanking again? Yup, it's [info]stupid_free! To explain this wank I shall do an interpretive dance paraphrase! Choice bits:

"hay guyz atheists have a persecution complex isn't that stupid???"

"Atheists get the cold shoulder because they're amoral. Atheists are amoral! Amoral, I tell YOU!"

"Morals don't come from religion. Haven't you heard of secular humanism? Why no, you haven't! D:"

"Dude, your moral compass shouldn't come from the big guy in the sky."

"All morals come from religion, dammit!"

"I feel like I'm talking to a Martian! D:"

So if you're an atheist, you're also a hedonist. Nice to know. :D

True story: When I was in high school, I had to take one of those bullshit healthy lifestyle classes, and for one of our projects, we all had to do a brief presentation on different religions - you know, to promote understanding of other people's religious choices.

This one girl remembered to include atheism, but she defined it as "worship of Satan." She was totally cool with it, though, so I guess the project fulfilled its purpose after all.

Reminds me of the "Spirituality & Mysticism" class I took in college. The professor billed herself as a Jewish Zen Buddhist Lutheran, "open to all mindsets!".

Well, I remember the final paper. We all had to write something involving mystics/mysticism. Some did it on Catholic saints, others on the Sufi sect, one even did hers on Bob Marley as a saint of Rastafarianism.

Me?

I wrote a paper debunking certain Christian stories (virgin birth, 666 as the Number of the Beast). The professor flipped her lid...

...until the rest of the class chewed her out as to not being open-minded to skepticism.

I got a B. :)

A... Jewish Lutheran? How the hell would that work?

Given my professor's age, I'm assuming some "experimentation and parental rebellion" was in her background.

That's disturbing as all hell. The worst thing is that I have no trouble believing it. D:

What, if atheism is worship of Satan, what's paganism? -headscratch-
