Just be glad I didn't go with the wanking [info]lesbians.
Can you guess what community is wanking again? Yup, it's [info]stupid_free! To explain this wank I shall do an interpretive dance paraphrase! Choice bits:

"hay guyz atheists have a persecution complex isn't that stupid???"

"Atheists get the cold shoulder because they're amoral. Atheists are amoral! Amoral, I tell YOU!"

"Morals don't come from religion. Haven't you heard of secular humanism? Why no, you haven't! D:"

"Dude, your moral compass shouldn't come from the big guy in the sky."

"All morals come from religion, dammit!"

"I feel like I'm talking to a Martian! D:"

So if you're an atheist, you're also a hedonist. Nice to know. :D

Also, we can choose from more than just two parties that are the complete opposites of each other!

Literature professors are welcome to come and try their luck here :D

I wish we could choose from two parties that are complete opposites of each other. Instead, we get two parties that are pretty depressingly identical.

Man, I was already in love with Finland and this whole thread is only fueling it. Now I really do have to visit there *hugs her travel guide*

Come, come!

Although here's a tip. If you ever do come here, and you're not planning on going to North, then I come during the summer. The Finnish winter is wonderful and beautiful when it actually arrives, but for example, this year we had to wait until mid-January for real winter. Rain and darkness for two and a half months. Not good. If you want to see that, then go to London.

So come during the summer, summer always arrives, and it's never suffocatingly hot, and the Finnish nature is at its best in July-August!

/end marketing speech.

*laughs* Hey, marketing speeches are good! I'm actually from Michigan (one of the states) and the winter has been like that for us, too. We've only had constant snow for about two weeks now.

It sounds like summer would be a nice time to visit ^^ I really hate super hot places, so Finland would probably be perfect for me. Thanks, I'd say that was a good marketing speech! XD It made me want to go even more, anyway.

Dammit, must you make it more appealing? I already want to move there/visit because of the man in my icon, must you make me want it more?!

Judging by this thread, I'd say there's a lot of Finland fans. Perhaps we should plan a mass visit and give the tourism/real estate a boost.

-Sage (who even has a book in the works taking place there, because she randomly loves Finland that much)

Yes! I have been encouraged to do so. I hear you can get tomatoes, and bags to put them in. It all adds up to a must-see experience.

And a book? What's it about?

I've been wanting to go to Finland ever since I made a Finnish character. I was studying Finland to get a better feel for him and now I love the place.

Sadly it's not a released book yet. Like everyone else, I'm trying to get things together for publishing. But it's sci-fi fantasy (depending on which book you pick up) and the one I was referring to is sort of one of those "Meanwhile, back at the ranch..." side stories. Two of the characters have a long history of misadventures together before the real start of the series and I realized flashbacks weren't cutting it, so I just wrote them their own book. The actual series is a twist on the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse concept, where one of those guys is actually Pestilence and his friend sort of gets involved in it. And then there's a big war and stuff. I'm just hoping I can get a publisher interested.

Ahh, sorry for ranting ^^;; I never get to talk about this.

Well, I'm interested. It sounds like it'd be fun to read! Sadly, I'm not a publisher... D;

Ahh, if only I was my own publisher XD I'm just happy it sounds good. If you ever hear of an 'Exile' series, that'll be it. Thanks for listening ^^

Oh and yes, oddly enough, I remember when I first saw your icon, my second thought (as my first was "Mmmm....") was "I wonder if he's Finnish?"

Ooh, yes, that's Tuomas Holopainen, member of Nightwish. He says he gets his inspiration from nature, so I figure Finland must be pretty damn wonderful if he can make the music he does. :D That, plus Scandanavian countries in general are beautiful.

You can't resist the power of the... Finland.

(I realise that's a lame ending, but I can't think of anything Finnish that rhymes with "force".)

It sounds like the punchline to a Monty Python skit. :P
