Apparently my parents were completely aware that I was reading (really, really bad) porny fanfic at 12-14ish, but never told me until later.
I was really embarrassed when I found out, not because they caught me reading porn, but because they caught me reading crappy porn. (I almost wish they had stopped me and pointed me in the direction of better erotica, but that would have been even more life-threateningly embarrassing, and I eventually figured it out for myself, so, yeah, I'm glad they left me alone.)
