Huh. My college uses wikis for some classes. We're also allowed to email our midterms and final essays in some classes (i.e. to prove that it was finished on time), but we also have to follow up with a printed copy ASAP.

On a more tech note, I don't think I've ever had an email go missing in the series of tubes, yo. Sometimes things crop up in my spam filter (like my aunt's emails, for some bizarre reason), but in my many years of email, I've never had an email simply not arrive. Am I doing something wrong?
