Amazon Wank
So it seems that before Christmas Amazon had a DVD offer on boxsets - buy one get one free. Except they made a bit of a mistake and the lowest item was actually taken off twice. This resulted in, if you had two items of the same price, free DVDs.

As will happen people took advantage of this and people discussed whether that was ethical.

Skip forward to December 28th, and Amazon finally realises their error. All customers affected are asked to either return the boxsets unopened, or their credit cards will be charged the total price.

Aaaaand wank results People ask whether it's legal. Some people ring Amazon to complain. And some people sit proclaiming that it's all perfectly fine and serves folk right for taking advantage of it.

It is in Michigan- up to a point.
If something is mis-marked, and the cashier fails to charge you the marked price, you are entitled to a scanning error reward of five times the price difference, award not to exceed five dollars, plus a refund of the price difference.

But then Michigan has some of the strictest pricing laws in the country. Walmart and a bunch of other major retailers would like to see the laws changed so that individual items don't have to be priced at all- just shelf tagged.

This Wank makes me wonder if people ever got their 'free' Narnia box sets from focus on the family or whatever the christian website with the variable donation policy was.

Nope! But I got a Chick Tract catalog and an ad for Exodus, the ex-gay people, so I think it was worth it for the lulz.
