I don't think it's the name signing so much as the sparkly/stupid way with which it's being done. Everyone seems to like Mister Terrific's signatures (myself included) b/c he writes things that are actually funny or witty, as opposed to just throwing a bunch of tildes and shit at the end of a comment to up the sparklypoo factor.

Won't speak for her wankiness further down the comments threads, but her original crime (signing all posts and comments) doesn't seem that annoying. After slogging through message-board signatures for years, nothing is that annoying.

The way the commenters are going on, I almost suspect that stupid_free is a cover for people who have been psychologically traumatized by signatures in the past. They formed a mocking community to get away from it all, but then

kitsunegari reared her uncleverly signed head and they realized: Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.

Why am I not surprised that it was

creamicannoli that started off the wank? Not trashing her, just expressing a general lack of surprise.

I don't know why people are letting themselves get so bent out of shape about her signing her comments, yeah it's kind of silly but not worth all the attention they're givng it. Her going through people's userinfo to shoot things back at them is pretty stupid though.

I don't really care about the signing post thing. That's something I don't even acknowledge half the time. It's not worth the effort of caring, in my opinion.

There was something that has me thinking though. I want to know if this crossed anyone else's mind, or if it's just me. People are talking about how she's using stuff from the other person's journal when I've seen this done before, and it was considered just fine in snarking and arguments. Did anyone else think that, or am I alone? I'm hoping that doesn't come across as mega-bitchy, as it's hard to hear my tone via Internet. It's not meant to be.

What got me was she picked stuff that wasn't shameful. Oh no, someone is trying to better him/herself by learning new things and taking up healthy hobbies! How horrible!

You missed the point dearie. Things were picked that weren't shameful on purpose. "She" says she doesn't attack people over these things, even though she could. Actually, I think the entire mess missed that point. That a whole buch of people picked on a small tiny thing that isn't shameful. I'd hate to tell them this, but they really left themselves wide open. I have never read anything so ridiculous in my life as a whole community of people get up in arms over a damn signature. With, in my opinion, no reason whatsoever other than they felt like picking a fight that day.

That said, Yous is about the most intelligent comment I have read so so.

Dude, how do I keep doing this? I'll read a wank, and skip over ONE important piece of the puzzle (be it a point or a fact or something someone said), mess that up in my comment, and then get my ass handed to me.

It makes a lot more sense now. It's a pretty good way to combat that, as it was a stupid fight over nothing. It's just too bad people missed the point so easily, myself (shamefully) included.

	Okay, so posting sigs on LJ is kinda stupid (since, uh, your username's RIGHT THERE). But from the way the other people reacted, you'd think she'd drop-kicked a baby or something. Also.
