Things Get Shirty on Stupid_Free
... when a post about an 18 year old trying to get pregnant with her 28 year old fiance hits the comm. Cue lots and lots and LOTS of offensive and defensive wank about teenage pregnancy and/or marriage and/or age differences in relationships, with some squicky/hilarious/startlingly-thoughtful results.

This thread, featuring a man who met and was attracted to his girlfriend when she was 13 is especially creepy. We get aaaaaaaaall the interesting ones of LJ, donchaknow!

You know, I can't seem to be able to read anything except the skeevy adult finding the 13-year-old interesting, as in dateable. Just, no. My little brother was 13 a couple years ago and if one of my friends had wanted to date him, I'd have to kill them and bury them in the backyard with the psychotic dog. *shudders* We're a little less than nine years apart, and just, yuck.

Hell, I want to kick one of my online friend's boyfriend's ass for knocking up a 16-year-old when he's 19. And not for the first time.

Wordy mcwordpie a la mode.

My sister is fifteen. I shudder to think about older guys hitting on her; I got freaked out even when she got asked to a school dance by a senior. D:

I would get freaked, too. Hell, I was freaked out when said little brother had three sisters fighting over him and he hadn't hit third grade yet. It's just like "Oh my god" and then the need to kill the offending party when it comes to a teen sibling. He'll be 17 this year, he's been having sex since he was 15. I couldn't imagine if he'd been with 20something during that time. I'd kill her, with a lot of messy instruments.

Luckily my sister thinks that sex is gross and dangerous and doesn't plan to have any till she's 18. I just hope she sticks with that. I wonder if it's the age difference that makes me so protective, though - there are seven years between us. Whereas my brother who's 19 basically does whatever and as long as he doesn't get in trouble with the law or lose a limb I don't mind.

Lucky you. I wish I had that option. That'd be great and it'd stop me from worrying about his dumbass. Lord knows he's dead stupid when it comes to common sense. I never worried or cared about my older stepsisters and their problems. I think the age difference does help, because younger sibs are more apt to get caught in bad situations. Easily trapped, especially in today's world.

Oh goody. My little brother is eighteen years younger than I am. I suddenly shudder to think how protective I'll be when he gets old enough to worry about. He's only five now, though, so I should be safe for a little while longer.

*grins* You should be safe until about 5-6th grade. At least that's when my little brother protecting instincts really kicked in. Just be prepared to hit girls with bats when they break his heart. You should be golden then.

She was so robbed. It's like they find the stupidest personalities and let them have it. Which is why I'm not watching the new season. It got old quick for me. Kinda like American Idol.
