Bad service in the ER?
[info]traumawolfe posts a list of Rules of the ER in [info]customers_suck. Complaints start at the first comment, where it is pointed out that s/he ripped off the list from another site. People also point out, at various points and in various ways, that some of the demands/complaints are irrational. Many personal anecdotes are invoked on both sides and I learn more about hemorrhoids than I wanted to.

Others defend the OP and there is discussion of exactly how bitchy a patient is allowed to be.

Eventually, the OP deletes her journal, but the post remains.

[info]stella4809 makes an off-topic post over here and people complain there as well.

I'd think there'd be more complaining. I was in the ER one night (interning) and all the people who came in complained.

Mostly on account of the catheter.

I've seen them put in. OW. Tubes that big should not go there!

It felt like the WORST bladder infection I've ever had. My discussion with the nurses went something like this (I'd just woken up):

Me: I need to pee!
Nurse: It's just the catheter. Relax.
Me: It hurts! GET IT OUT!
Nurse: We can't take it out, just relax.
Me: I WANT IT OUT!

Yeah, I was pretty out of it. I don't know how I would have coped without the heavy-duty painkillers they had me on.

Seeing them put one in the stoned guy with a fracture in his neck was, I admit, kinda funny.

Yeah. He was making jokes through the whole thing, actually, when he wasn't squawking.

Stoner jokes are the best. I remember my older siblings (I'm 27, so when I say older, I mean people in their early forties) getting nicely stoned on New Years Eve and when my noseless, earless kitty walked over to them, they started giggling and saying to her, "Happy Nose Ears!"

It was only funny cause they found it so funny.

She had the front of her nose cut off because she had skin cancer on it. And her ears too. She looks like a weird panda now. Here she is:

A link in case you want to prepare yourself before seeing a cat with no nose. Some people are freaked out by her. I wasn't cause I saw the nose when it was freshly carved, and NOTHING can beat that for skin-crawling ickness.

She's a very affectionate sweet cat, though, and a real survivor. (Sorry - I've blathered on about her!)

...I feel bad for finding that disturbingly adorable. The way you said it made me wonder if it had no nose or nasal passage at all.

No, don't feel bad. The bitch owns it. You don't know how many times I've had people ask what breed she is, cause she looks like she was born that way, the way she's so happy with it and is cute despite the weirdness.

It's probably because I'm feeling migraine aura and as a result, I have a complete inability to properly communicate what I'm thinking. I've already been painfully unfunny and wanky in other wank posts. Somethin's up with my groove, man.

Do you own the cat in the icon, or is it a random kitty? Cause it looks so much like my Lenny boy. (Who is a pirate).

Heh, but in all you want. People love Melma, I don't know why. I always figure, "Man, she's a funny looking old girl, I'm probably the only one that loves her so much." But I'm wrong. LOL!

Oh, she is a totaly cutie. Honestly, there's something about slightly damaged animals that makes them double-cute, especially if they press on cheerfully as if nothing had ever happened (see: tripods. D'AWW.)

It looks like Skelator and a panda had a baby, then the resulting baby grew up and got it on with a cat.

I'd name it Skellakitnda. Call it Skelly for short, I would.
