Neo-nazi Magic!
This is a week old but forgive me - I've been suffering from hella migraines so I haven't been able to report this. Thanks to [info]joolsmd for letting me pass on this wank. I wondered if this suffered from the unfunny, but the day after seeing it I read the rant again and it made me sporfle. It pushes through "unhappy-inducing racism" and into "OMG, amusing nutcase!" quite nicely, I think.

Over on [info]occult someone asks if anyone can help them find a Lilith sigil. For those that might not know, a sigil is a symbol, often made up of the shapes of the letters that make up a word, but sometimes just a symbol. It can represent a god or goddess, a wish or a thought that you want to concentrate on and bring into your life. Sigils are used a lot in Jewish Mysticism and are very popular in occult circles. And again, if you don't know, Lilith is a 'demon' in Jewish Mysticism, but a goddess in old Babylonian mythology. Interpretations of her vary.

[info]owl_clan posts a helpful tutorial on how to create a sigil.

A bright little spark in human evolution, [info]forgoil, takes umbrage at the fact that people are delving into such mysticism in the comm. This guy is a special kind of crazy. He actually uses the words "pure milk-white sons and daughters of the earth". People point out that hey - the Aryans are actually kinda coffee-coloured to brown, but he doesn't respond to such logic. He posts AGAIN!

My favourite all-caps line from this walking vaccuum of intelligent thought:

THE FOLK WILL BE VICTORIOUS OVER ALL OF YOU AND YOU WILL KNEEL ON BLEEDING KNEES BEFORE THE RIGHTEOUSSNESS OF THE CAUSE!

Hang on... The 'folk' will be victorious? You mean - Peter, Paul and Mary WIN?! Bob Dylan shall inherit the earth? YAY! Of course, people over at occult don't let this lie. In fact, they mock the stupid mercilessly and bring the lols!

You think that's all there is to it? No, there's more! Not much more but I found it amusing. In the post about sigils, [info]owl_clan doesn't like the way some people worship the old gods. Nope, they're not doing it right! If they don't believe everything about that god that our ancestors did, then they're fluffy neo-pagan hippies who are deluding themselves! At one point he gets *really* mad at [info]ceilede:

Maybe you'll just laugh this off, and in fact, I know you will, because considering the amount of immaturity that you have been heaping on me today, it is clear that you don't have the mental stability and adjustment to give up on your ego and your fear, and make yourself into what you were meant to be: a house, a temple where the flame of Truth burns on the central altar.

For now, and for the foreseeable future, you will be a house of whores- the whores of self-addiction, pleasure, relative nonsense, and postmodern pseudointellectualism.

... OKAY!

ETA: Apparently [info]owl_clan is a long-time wanker. Here's his entry on the Encyclopaedia Dramatica.

Well, see, that's the thing. I don't DO circles or anything like that unless I feel moved to. I don't touch my Tarot cards or anything like that unless I feel that the moment is right and the motivation is pure. I don't bother Gods to help me with things I can do myself. I might ask for help with health matters, but generally that's a lit candle and a prayer and that's it.

I'm pretty much of the belief (and my own intuition sort of backs me up on this one) that I'm here in this life to live, not to bother Gods. Having the religious beliefs I do - All Gods, all people, all wisdom are eminations of the Ineffable - makes me pretty unpopular in pagan circles. They tend to dislike me mentioning something awesome Jesus might have said while sitting around discussing a certain issue we might want to meditate on. I had a friend yell at me madly that the 'faeries' didn't like Jesus just because I put my hands together to meditate. Was reaaaally weird.

I figure, whatever is out there, it's probably happy you're even paying attention to it and being a good person. So many don't.

Obviously we have to start our own religion. Being the chosen of a gos invariably results in pain and suffering and all kinds of not-fun stuff, and yet so much of modern paganism seems to be chasing desperately after being recognized as speshul by your god of choice rather than living your life under the assumption that if they really, really need you, they'll call and in the meantime you should just trust your gut.

I'm all for people not having regular rituals. Familiarity breeds contempt. Do it when you know it's right; the gods may teach through holy texts now and again, but they speak in the silence of the heart and the sudden urge to go that way as opposed to the other way, or run out to get something for no particular reason, or to look at this house and not the other one. You know.

People like to ignore intuition. I dunno why.

Word. Some Gnostics go on about life as a disease, a big mistake by a bastard fragmented aspect of the Ineffible. I see it as a blessing, as the ultimate way for the Ineffible to understand Itself. So living, making mistakes, trying to do your best, all that shit, is the best thing you could do for whatever you believe in. So there are some aspects of Gnosticism I thoroughly disagree with, though it's the closest I've found to my belief system so far. :T So frustrating!

Maybe people ignore intuition cause they're too busy being fangirls of their God of Choice?

My bad.

And as for Hook, I always assumed that he and the crocodile would put aside their differences and realize that they are meant for each other.

...I sincerely hope no one is taking me seriously. O_O
