Wank! Over Naked Women!
Finding wank on deviantArt isn't so hard, I guess, but this seems to have become worse than most.

A nude photo of a woman, NOT worksafe, makes the Daily Deviations.

The first comment is a remark about the girly bits, so the wankiness starts right away. Then people start debating how good a picture it is in the first place. I'm not sure one can link individual comments on dA but the wank seems to be everywhere, at least on the first page.

chaoswolf1982: Nice dangle down there.

ChloeKytten:

that's just a rude remark!!!

Her eyes do the talking in this piece, what is she thinking of I wonder????

Then we have a long argument between Ken21 and pangwinking that I had to pick bits out of:

Ken21:

wow what? No ones talking about lens focus. Do you even know what you’re talking about? Harsh lighting, he’s using soft lights for one, and I can see just by looking at the image he has six point lighting set up. It’s ok for a photo to have shadows.

~pangwinking:
Actually no, I have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm glad I have somebody such as yourself to teach me so much about what pays my bills.

And more people give their thoughts on naked women:

LadyHellFyre:
Guess i'll add my piece. Only thing i can say is, nudity in itself is a focal point. So...when it's there, that's what it is. -shrug- Pretty obvious, i think these other people just think we're being harsh. But it's a fact o' life my friends. Dogs sniff eachother's wangs, humans are baffled with nakedness.

SojinnZero:

This piece is ridiculous. The depth of field is huge, and the eyes absolutely cannot be the focal point since they are so dark compared to the highlight on her right thigh and the white of the floor. They are subdued. The pose means nothing, being that of a brooding nature conflicting with her confused look. The clothes she is wearing don't appear to mean anything either or have been taken into consideration.

I say it's just an excuse for a nude photo.

P.S. The woman has a gigantic labia

And I love this line from clericflcl

Oh yeah. Great job everyone, and keep up the good work. Your arguments are always amusing, and the pointlessness in the fights brings new light into my day, because it makes me feel normal.

Lama Power Forever!
Clericflcl

And then it just detiorates, and that's only the front page:

Neeycko:
I think chaoswolf's comment is fine.

This is deviantart for christ's sake. If you upload something here, people are going to say whatever the hell they like.

they can call it whatever they like. You say dangle and NO ONE is confused by what you mean, in this case. I really don't see what the big deal is here.

ThisIsaTragedy:
get a fucking life.

Shelax:
You know what I call this entire string of comments, including my own? Labia Minority Report. AHAAHHAHAAHAHA. Think Spielberg will direct? Holy shit, I'm on a roll!

There's more on the other pages too, but frankly I lost steam at some point...

EDIT: For artistic purposes only!

I unfortunately forgot that one needs an account to see the "mature" content.

[info]scarah2 has kindly provided a screencap of the art. Again, NSFW!

EDIT 2: Now with redeeming social value!

In the comments here, [info]funkyhelix provides backstory about the Black Apple.

The back story is there was a traditional art piece that was featured for a daily deviation, and then immediately deleted for lewdness, and a lot of the community built around the DDs are still sensitive over it.

The piece was a ceramic apple glazed black, and the inside cross section was a woman's pink bits. I think the artist was ooty. It was well done and extremely popular. There was talk of it breaking pageviews per hour records. Suddenly it was deleted from the gallery without explanation to the artist or the staffer who featured it, and when the dust settled, it was claimed the black apple was too pornographic and against standards.

Since then, which was about two weeks ago, any time something looks risque, people run in and make a stink about it and ask why this isn't deleted etc, etc, lamecakes.

The whole thing over the Black Apple is a neat read. Lemme scare up links.

Black Apple goes missing.
Why it got deleted
Alchemism, who is the staffer that featured the apple for a daily deviation questions the deletion and loses his DD pick priviledges. He immediately deletes his entire gallery. There's a lot of wanking on his profile page, but he hides most of the comments.
Alchemism then creates a new piece (a site wide feature) which he writes about the pieces he would have featured, if DA hadn't stripped him of his privileges.

That's lovely. "Oh, you dare to question our choice? No privledges for you!" Now I know why I never post anything on DA. besides the fact that I can't draw for shit

I remember seeing that art but I can't remember if I saw it on dA or in an LJ icon.

Thanks so much for the backstory, I'll edit and link it if you don't mind.

I remember my first thought when I saw the apple was "Ew, it went bad. Go throw it out... it's got to smell like shit" ... which I think just confirmed my heterosexuality for good *L*.

Okay, if pornography is defined as being created for the sole purpose of being sexually stimulating. . . does that mean that deviantart's mods apparently have a thing for, er, rotten vagina fruit?

Seriously, who in their right mind gets off on that?

That would be an awesome band name. "Rotten Vagina Fruit live in concert!"

It sounds like a new term thought up on the "Childfree" comm.

"So there's this moo in front of me in line with her rotten vagina fruit, and I says to her, I says..."

At least it's a more amusing term than "crotch dropping." I think I'd enjoy CF wank more if they could be inventive with their pejoratives.

Those apples were a little crudely rendered but that was a lovely concept, I was sorry to see it get deleted, even if it wasn't my personal cup of tea.
